Maria Burnette and Stan Lane were united in marriage on June 30, 2007 on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. The ceremony took place during the annual Sarasota Offshore Grand Prix Boat Race in which Stan is the television and radio commentator. Footage of the wedding was televised on SNN News 6 in Sarasota as well as the Comcast Sports Channel. Hot Boat Magazine was in attendance and will feature a picture and write up on the newlyweds in an upcoming issue. A reception was hosted the following week by the groom's mother, Jean Lane and featured an 'island theme' complete with music performed by Tracy Thornton Steel Band. Stan is the son of the late Wallace Lane. The couple will spend their honeymoon in Las Vegas. The bride is employed by Rooms To Go in Greensboro and is a member of their Million Dollar Sales Club. The groom is a retired World Champion professional wrestler. He was employed by Jim Crockett Production, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation. His Tag Teams include 'The Fabulous Ones' and 'The Midnight Express'. He is currently employed by Superboat International Promotions based in Key West, Florida.
The couple will live in Greensboro.
