Dragon Gate USA returns to the Northeast is just under a month and the lineups are coming together!!! We have the first match announcements, a new DVD release and more in this edition of the WWNLive Alerts. Let's get to it....
October 9th: Open The United Gate Champions CIMA & AR Fox made two successful title defenses in Japan last weekend. First, they defeated the legendary duo of Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi at the TV taping in Fukuoka. Then on the next night, CIMA & Fox defeated Jimmy Susumu & Mr. Kyukyu Toyonaka Dolphin in an impromptu title defense. Now all eyes are focused on their next defense on November 3rd in Voorhees, NJ. This leads us to the next news item....
October 9th: Ryo Saito & Genki Horiguchi have petitioned for an Open The United Gate Title Match. Their reputations and status in Japan immediately make them top contenders. Technically, they are also 1-0 in DGUSA with a victory over The Young Bucks on the 2nd ever DGUSA event. At the same time, The Super Smash Brothers have put together an impressive string of wins. Ricochet is still infuriated that he had to fight for the titles he "never lost" and insists that he and Rich Swann should be in contention despite dropping the tag title decision match at the last DGUSA event. Here is how DGUSA officials have decided to handle the situation....
October 9th: It will be Ryo Saito & Genki Horiguchi vs. The Super Smash Brothers on November 2nd in Everett, MA. The winning team will challenge CIMA & AR Fox for the Open The United Gate Titles on November 3rd in Voorhees, NJ. The losing duo will go against Ricochet & Rich Swann on Nov. 3rd in New Jersey in a match that could springboard a team into a future title shot.
October 9th: Two other major matches have been signed for Fearless 2012 on November 2nd in the Boston area. After the disrespect Ricochet showed AR Fox at the 3rd Anniversary Show and EVOLVE 17, it will be Ricochet vs. Fox in a Respect Match. Pride is on the line in this one. The loser must shake the winner's hand and say that he is the better man. It's a matter of respect in New England!
October 9th: Akira Tozawa has sent in three open contracts for November. The first one has been filled. It will be Tozawa vs. Jon Davis on Nov. 2nd in Everett, MA. The last time these two met was over a year ago. With Davis' recent rise and new attitude this one will be epic.
October 9th: Johnny Gargano wrote this post on Facebook from Japan about his next Open The Freedom Gate title defense, scheduled for November 4th in Deer Park, NY. We will have more later this week. Gargano continued to make history as DGUSA Champion. He successfully defended the title against Ryo Saito last weekend in Japan. Gargano is now the first man to defend the DGUSA Title in Japan, the United States and England.
