DOWN MEMORY LANE IN PHOTO's
 BY Georgiann Makropoulos

I started going to Sunnyside Gardens in 1959, I spent a lot of time at Sunnyside Gardens in Sunnyside, NY.  I saw some tremendous matches.  Back in the day, General Admission was only $2.50.

We saw such stars as:  Bruno Sammartino, Buddy Rogers, Stan Stasiak, Johnny Valentine, Bulldog Brower, Karl Von Hess, The Kangaroos, Primo Carnera, Sweet Daddy Siki, Bob Orton, Sr & The Great Scott,  Smasher Sloan, Billy Darnell, Gorilla Monsoon, Victor Rivera, Mark Lewin and Don Curtis and the list goes on and on.

We had shows every Tuesday, and once or twice per month on a Saturday, sometimes in the afternoon, and Philly was at night.

It was a shame when the Gardens were torn down to make room for a Wendy's Restaurant.

In a few days I will be doing an article "Remembering Madison Square Garden, as only I can do"...
