A Legend comes to the ECWA on Dec. 3rd: PERCY PRINGLE aka PAUL BEARER

On December 3, 2005, ECWA Hall of Famer Kevin Kelly will induct three new members into the ECWA Hall of Fame: Scoot Andrews, Paul Turner, and Japanese Pool Boy.

Kevin Kelly
ECWA Hall of Famer, Kevin Kelly returns to the promotion after a long absence to host the upcoming ECWA Hall of Fame Ceremony on December 3rd. He will be present to induct, Scoot Andrews, Japanese Pool Boy and referee Paul Turner into the 2006 Hall of Fame Class.

Kevin was a mainstay with the ECWA from 1999 to 2002 and had done everything with the promotion, including, managing, scouting, booking, writing, and even wrestling.

In 2002 at the promotion's 35th Anniversary, Kevin was inducted into the ECWA Hall of Fame and we welcome back Kevin on December 3rd as this year's Hall of Fame host.

Scoot Andrews

Many wrestlers have held the ECWA Heavyweight Championship over the promotion's 38 year history. Perhaps none held the title with such style and grace as "The Black Nature Boy" Scoot Andrews. Ironic that Kevin Kelly will be inducting Scoot into the Hall of Fame, as it was Kelly who first recommended Scoot to be a part of the famous ECWA Super 8 Tournament in 2000. His performance in the tournament, making it all the way to the final round with Christopher Daniels, would be a breakout recognition for the Florida grappler. Scoot began to travel all over the globe which included numerous WWE appearances. He returned to the ECWA and eventually won the Heavyweight Championship in May 2001 and held the title for 10 months. His ECWA matches against other Super 8 alumni such as Christopher Daniels, Low Ki, American Dragon, Amazing Red, and Billy Fives have become a legendary part of the promotion's history.

Scoot Andrews retired on February 26, 2005 after a 3 way match with fellow Super 8 alumni Mike Sullivan and Billy Fives. This ended a tremendous 11 year wrestling career of one of the top independent competitors in recent memory. On that February night, Scoot was able to deliver a heartfelt speech announcing his retirement.

We in the ECWA have been honored that Scoot Andrews chose the ECWA as one of his main promotions to perform in over his career, and we are proud to have him present on December 3rd as we look back on his wrestling career and induct him into the ECWA Hall of Fame!

Paul Turner

In 1999, a young man from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, entered the doors of Wrestle Tech, the official wrestling school of the ECWA and PCW. He had a dream of becoming a professional wrestling referee. That young man was Paul Turner. During two years of training, Paul, rarely missed a training session, even though he had almost a two hour commute to the school and back home from the school. To say he was dedicated to his training is an understatement! Paul learned his craft well and went on to referee some of the greatest matches in the history of the ECWA.

Fans and sometimes even wrestlers underestimate the importance of a good referee. The referees on a wrestling show often times see more ringtime than the wrestling participants. They work hard, sometimes with little to no recognition.

Paul Turner has went on to referee matches in other independent groups, but his loyalty to refereeing in the ECWA has always come first. In his six years with the promotion, he has missed only one show. He has been very instrumental in helping other young referees and wrestlers during their stay in the ECWA.

Quiet and unassuming, Paul Turner is one of the true workhorses of the ECWA promotion and we are proud and honored to be able to induct him into our Hall of Fame on December 3rd.

Japanese Pool Boy

There is only one word to describe the Japanese Pool Boy! ICON ! Few wrestlers ever achieve the status of legend or icon, but The Japanese Pool Boy is one of the elite. A product of ECWA's Wrestle Tech school, this young man entered the ranks of the promotion 6 years ago and quickly rose to the top of the roster and captured the hearts of the wrestling fans.

Not only a very skilled wrestler, The Japanese Pool Boy also brings a different brand of entertainment to the ring that is hard to duplicate. His character is one that could often times be harassed or ridiculed, but his keen sense of tasteful over the top entertainment has made him one of the most enduring and popular ECWA wrestlers ever.

His outlandish ring entrances which have ranged from "Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz" to "Barry White" to doing pole dances or riding scooters to the ring, coupled with his ability to wrestle with stars like Christopher Daniels, Low Ki and others, have earned him the respect of his peers and the fans of the ECWA.

There is only one Japanese Pool Boy and we here in the ECWA are proud and honored to have him on our roster and present on December 3rd to become part of the ECWA Hall of Fame.
