Shane Strickland returns to ECWA for the first time in 3 years this Saturday, June 20th at the Woodbury Heights Community Center in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, bell time 7 PM.Strickland appeared in ECWA in 2012 at the beginning of his career. Since that time, Strickland has made a big impact on the independent scene, most recently appearing as Kill Shot in Lucha Underground along with other ECWA alumni such as 2014 ECWA Super 8 Champion Matt Cross aka Son of Havoc and Ricky Reyes aka Cortez Castro.
Strickland has a tough challenge in front of him this Saturday though as he faces former ECWA Heavyweight Champion Bobby Shields! Shields recently lost the Heavyweight Championship to Matt Saigon at the Super 8 and was unsuccessful in regaining the championship in his rematch. Shields, now, is on the road back to title contention, and a win over Strickland would definitely be a boost in that direction! Both men are very evenly matched and interestingly enough both favor the use of the 450 splash to defeat their opponents!
