……

On Saturday, November 10 ECWA returned to the Greater Newark Boys' & Girls' Club in Newark, DE for the 2007 Super 8 Tournament. Here are your semi detailed results.

The afternoon began at Wild Wings with myself, Ron, Double K, Nick, and Brams.

Doors opened at 6:30 and the show started promptly at 7:30.

Luminaries in attendance included Mike Johnson, Kathy Fitzpatrick, Pete Theophill, Bodyguard for Hire, and the kid who has season tickets to lacrosse.

Your ring announcer for the evening was not Chuck Ristano (and it showed).

The First Round of the Super 8 saw:

Rob Eckos defeated Billy Bax

Matt Logan beat Rob Conway when he rolled Conway up as he was attempting his neckbreaker finisher.

Jerry Lynn cradle piledrove Brian Fury for the win.

Sonjay Dutt camel clutched Human Tornado, causing him to submit, in the most enjoyable match of the first round.

The Semi Finals started with Sonjay Dutt pinning Rob Eckos after a 450 splash.

Jerry Lynn then pinned Matt Logan after the cradle piledriver.

The Annual ECWA Summit Rumble saw Prince Nana (who was the most over wrestler of the entire night) victorious. Participants in the Rumble included Freak Nasty, Bryan Logan, Mozart Fonatine, Chase Del Monte, Travis Blake, Ace Darling, Mr. Scott Wright, Megs, Jason Leigh, Timothy Richards, JJ Crew Guy, Frederick of Hollywood, Glen Osbourne, Hot Shot Mike Reed, Kermon the German, Guy with Red Hiar, Sean Royal, Brian Soscia, Max Von Bauer, Jim Shorts, Robere' Shields, Corey Blaze, Dan Eckos, Mike Tobin, El' Trouble, Alec Chance, Gus Grand, and JJ Cruz ("He Can't Lose").

JJ Cruz had the best entrance to the Rumble and Mr. Ooh La La was at ringside for the match and was as entertaining as ever (if not more entertaining that usual).

The Finals of the 2007 Super 8 Tournament saw Jerry Lynn defeat Sonjay Dutt, in the match of the night. Both men hit everything in their arsenal but Jerry was able to nail Sonjay with the credle piledriver to score the pinfall.

After the match, Jerry Lynn took the mic to talk about his 20th year in the business (which will take place next year) and to thank Jim Kettner for inviting him and the fans for supporting him for all these years.

Thanks to Brett Schwan of http://www.wrestlingclothesline.com for these Super 8 ECWA Results

BTW -  I did pick the winner when I listed the upcoming tournament.  Congratulations Jerry.
