I’ve been reading and watching your site for months now and after reading some of the recent WWE letters I thought regardless of whether I actually get through or not I should write my 2 cents.  I was born in 1981 and I can remember being very young and begging my dad to rent Wrestlemania 1.  Since that day I was hooked,  I wanted to watch every time it was on and every pay per view possible.  Even when my family was poor and couldn’t afford it they would make every effort to rent the major pay per views when they came out.   

I realize that times change and everything grows, but some things just shouldn’t.  I bought the Wrestlemania Anthology and the Royal Rumble box set not because I wanted to have ALL of the shows but because I wanted the good ones.  Nothing beats the 80’s Pay per views.  Like many others have said the old wrestling told a story.  The pay per views actually meant something.  What has survivor series become now?  It’s a bunch of individual matches.  What happened to teams competing to beat each other?   

The attitude era was great it brought a whole new aspect to wrestling, but at the same time it still had the element of 80’s wrestling.  With the popularity of Stone Cold he had a story with just about everyone he faced.  There was history and drama.  The Undertaker was once a constant story line and now he’s getting bounced around from one person to another without any story other then Wrestlemania.   

I just bought Un Scripted the other day and the very first page I read was (and I’m paraphrasing) HHH saying that the best wrestlers told a story, they weren’t the one’s doing moonsaults off the top rope.  Not that it’s not cool but they aren’t as good story tellers.  It’s true, the top guys aren’t the ones doing back flips and crazy stuff…unfortunately there is a lack of legitimate talent that could pull of old school wrestling.   

I haven’t watched a full episode of Raw in probably a year, I flip in when I can but it’s almost all crap now.  Mostly half talented people talking and the same person winning when they shouldn’t.  I still get the big 4 pay per views, but after each one I’m left feeling disappointed.  I keep hoping that things will change and at least story lines start forming, but so far nothing.   

I hope they come out with a Survivor Series box set and Summer Slam so that I can hold on to the good old days.  Sorry for the rant but it feels good to get it out.  Thanks for listening
