Since I first heard about it, I've always made it my mission to attend the NE Fan Fest. This year was no exception. Created by Joseph Bruen, with the help of many others, it's one of the most talked about events of the year.

The Crown Plaza was filled with wall-to-wall stars, every fan's dream. From past stars such as Harley Race, Larry Zbyszko, and Greg Valentine, to current stars on the independent scene such as Chris Hero, Shelly Martinez, and Eddie Edwards, it was an day filled with stories, questions, and rare chances to interact with these memorable superstars.

I was completely excited as I entered the room, first being greeted by friends, then by one-half of the HeartThrobs, Romeo Roselli. I mingled around, chatting with some of the many indy stars setting up various tables, such as JT Dunn, Dave Cole, and those from Beyond Wrestling. There were many sales booths, filled with priceless treasures from the past, such as original WWF figures, stickers, and shirts you can no longer find in any store.

The super card stars were introduced by WWE Hall Of Fame member, Howard Finkel, everyone getting a wonderful round of applause. They included Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Diana Hart Smith, Matt Striker, Maria Kanellis, Clarence Mason, The Godwinns, Debra McMichael, and Krystal Marshall, along with many others.

As the room filled with more stars, more fans entered, each one more excited than the next to get a chance to meet with their favorites, past and present. So many smiles from fans, young and old, as the stars greeted each one.

The wrestling stars were also having fun, going from table to table, chatting with old friends, sharing memories from their heyday. It was fun seeing them exchange tales from the turnbuckle, as well as from the road. You couldn't help but listen in on what many had to say.

The Fan Fest is an event you have to experience for yourself. Make it your effort to get to next year's. This is every wrestling fan's dream. The Fan Fest is a must for the true wrestling connoisseur. I know this fan is already waiting for next year's.

Report & photo sent by John

Hi,

I would just like to send in a report for the New England Wrestling Fanfest that
took place last Saturday in Warwick, RI.

I had a great time. It was well run. All of the guests were in the same room.
So, I didn't have to worry about meeting a vendor guest then having to go
to a different room or different part of the building to meet a Superticket guest
that I had a single autograph ticket for. The amount of Superticket guests was
huge. It included 2 autographs and 1 photo op from each guest. Most conventions
only give you 1 autograph and 1 photo op. So, you got more "Bang for your buck".

New England Wrestling Fanfest included big name guests such as
Scott Steiner, Scott Hall/Razor Ramon, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan,
Dory Funk, and Harley Race. There were also guests who haven't made
too many Northeast appearances such as The Nasty Boys and Paul Roma.
Not to mention guests who haven't made many convention appearances
at all such as Nicole Bass, Jose Luis Rivera, "The Golden Terror" Pete Doherty,
Mario Mancini, and Zach Gowen. Which is great if you want to get as many
autographs as possible of the living former WWE Wrestlers in your WWE Encyclopedia.

New England Wrestling Fanfest also included 2 bikini photo ops with Maria Kanellis
and Kristal Marshall. Plus, a special photo op with John Cena Sr. w/ his son's
WWE United States Championship spinner belt. I hope to see more special photo ops
like this next year.

All of the guests were very nice to all of the fans. I hope to attend New England Wrestling
Fanfest again in 2015.

Thanks,
John
