…..

I attempted to bring my sister to go meet Ric Flair today, and the crowd was overwhelming.

We arrived about 10am and there was already a huge line. We decided to take our chances and wait. Someone in front of me took a quick head count and said that there were about 550 in front of us.

By 11am, there were easily another 200+ people behind us waiting. Needless to say that we were turned away. The wristbands were gone in the first 15min like one of your previous posts had predicted.

We looked around the Fan Axxess, it wasn't very impressive, so we just left.

Disappointing weekend as far as signings go. We were turned away for the Matt Hardy signing yesterday too.

But we WILL be at the Rumble tonight.

I would think the WWE would know here in New York, the attendance would be OVERWHELMING, and it was.

Only allowing 200 wristbands were by far too few.
At least 400 for each session, would have been kinder.

It's amazing though how some of our readers had an awesome time, and others got sucked royally.

Results of the Royal Rumble will be up later.

ONE OF OUR READERS LETTERS

Hi Georgie

You know, I got to agree.  I have been to many signings and some of them
are not organized very well, and because of that , alot of fans
misdirect their anger and get mad at the performer and not get mad at
the organizor of the session.  I am not in NYC but I agree.....200
wristbands for a HUGE star like Flair, now come on.  Let's get real.
They know people are going to come for him, even people out of state for
the Rumble are gonna show up.  400-500 I think would have been fair
enough. I know Flair's time is limited but 4-500 wristbands would not
have been too much. Poor organization by WWE if you want my opinion and
of course you will have those fans who will be upset with Flair instead
of being upset with WWE.  I was NOT refering to the person who sent in
the report of course.

An experience I had at a signing for Edge at WM23 in Auburn Hill, MI at
FYE will illustrate my point:  I had my flight and hotel and car rental
set up for Detroit etc. Well, I find out about this signing. I love
Edge. Never met him. Well, I called the FYE and confirmed the signing.
THey said it was happening and only that.  No other details.  Anyway,
that is key.   I go ahead and change my flight plans to fly in on
Thursday the day of the signing and get a hotel in Auburn hills, etc. (I
was supposed to fly in on Friday so I flew in a day earlier just for
this signing.).  I did call the store again to make sure.  Again was
told it was happening and not given any details. Nothing about a
wristband or anything. Anyway, I get to the signing at about oh, 11:30am
for a 6pm signing. Yes, I am one of those. LOL  Guess what I found out.
I find out that I had to buy a WWE DVD or an action figure....I was not
told that on the phone.  The lady told me I was not likely to get a
signature. I was very upset.  Well, I asked her if I bought something
right there could I get on the line? SHe said yes. SO I did and I got on
line.  Well, due to a traffic Jam or whatever Edge and Layla were late
and the store was dragging its feet in telling us anything.  It was a
mess. Anyway, Edge and Layla were very nice and I got to kiss and hug
Edge. :)

So there you go...very poor planning....I don't know if I lay that on
the feet of FYE or WWE.  WHen the autograph session was announced I
don't think that the terms were put out.....you having to buy something.
I Sure as heck would have when I got to the store.  I guess I should
have asked more questions but I do feel they should have told me on the
phone.  I should not have had to find that detail out when I got there.

Terri
