FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR JOHN TOLOS

I received an email from Mike Lano, asking me to check to see if John Tolos passed away. He heard from Woody Farmer that John passed on Thursday night, but wanted it verified.
I then called John's sister Mary in Canada, and she confirmed the sad news.
I left a message for John's son Chris, he called me back last night.
Chris was with his Dad when he passed away. Chris said he would have funeral arrangements in a day or so, but the funeral will probably be on Thursday.
I first met John & Chris Tolos (The Hamilton Wrecking Crew, also known as The Canadian Wrecking Crew) at Sunnyside Gardens in the sixties. We became fast friends, much closer to John than Chris. Chris stayed to himself and was very quiet.
I followed his career here on the East Coast, and my hubby George, being Greek, also loved John. Always telling jokes and just hanging out.
I remember we were vacationing in California, and it just happened Herb Abrams was running a UWF show there at the same time. That's when we first met John's son Chris, who he was so proud of. As a matter of fact, if you get to watch some of those CA. UFC tapings, you will see, my hubby George, John's son Chris and I sitting in the first row.
As a performer, John was fantastic. He always caused a lot of heat. Loved getting into everyone's face. As a manager, he was the best. Coach and the damn whistle always got on our nerves. LOL
When I spoke to Bruno Sammartino yesterday, he said, "we have lost one of the best".
Just hung up with John's son Chris, who gave me the funeral arrangements.
John you will be missed by all of us. You will always be in our thoughts.
