Funk's Corner - !BANG! TV Webbies - Meet the Stars of the Funking Conservatory
Many in the wrestling business believe interview / speaking skills are as important as in-ring performance skills. In "Old School" days, we did what were called promos for the shows we were working. Some of the greats on promos were Dory Funk Sr., Terry Funk, Ric Flair, J.J. Dillon, King Curtis Iaukea, Ray Stevens, Ricky Romero, Eddie Graham, Freddie Blassie, Roddy Piper, Lonnie Mayne, Tex McKenzie, Fritz Von Erich, Pampero Firpo, Antone "The Ripper" Leone, Wild Red Berry, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Iron Mike Dibiase, Ted Dibiase, The Great Malenko, The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes and the manager of the Funk Borthers with his Megaphone in Hand, Jimmy Hart.
In today's competitive universe of "Sports Entertainment" there are even more demands for a wrestler's communication skills going beyond simple promos to deeper storyline plots presented in "Mini Movie' format or with the increasing influence of the internet on all forms of entertainment what we call here at the Funking Conservatory, "Webbies."
