Florida Championship Wrestling will be at the Bourbon Street Night Club in New Port Richey, FL, tonight. Bell time is 8:00 PM, and admission is $7. Paul Jones reported later that Nelson had been suspended as a result.

MAY 6, 1966 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Southern Tag Team Title One-Night Tournament: the Infernos defeated the Scufflin’ Hillbillies; Enrique & Alberto Torres defeated Jack Vansky & Swede Karlson; Bobby Shane & Chief Crazy Horse defeated Billy & Bad Boy Hines; the Mysterious Medics defeated Derrell Cochran & Jack Pesek; Torres Brothers defeated Infernos; Medics defeated Shane & Crazy Horse; Torres Brothers defeated Medics to win title > Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Buddy Fuller* versus Louie Tillet ruled a no contest / Notes: It is unclear as to how the Southern Tag Team Title became vacant to make the tournament necessary. The last reference we have shows the Infernos defending the title against Bobby Shane & Mario Galento on April 15, 1966, in Atlanta. It was reported that the winners of the tournament would also receive $5,000. During the tournament, Enrique & Alberto Torres were declared winners of their match with the Infernos when time ran out and judges gave the match to them. The final match of the tournament saw the Torres brothers defeat the Mysterious Medics after the Infernos interfered, throwing a fireball at Medic #2 when the referee was distracted. J.C. Dykes managed the Infernos. The program for this card features a candid photo of Charlie Harben and George Burie’s two dogs, Rebel and Rebel, Jr., who reportedly act as watchdogs at the Paul Jones Sports Arena. Buddy Fuller had been billed as Southern Heavyweight Champion since March 25, 1966.
