1944: Jack Dillon defeated Ben Bennicasa in the main event at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones.

1950: Art Nelson defeated Finis Hall to win the Southern Heavyweight Title at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Hall had been the reigning champion since he defeated Jack Kennedy on November 24, 1950, in Atlanta.

1952: Don McIntyre defeated Eduardo Perez two falls to one to retain the Southern Heavyweight Title at the William Bell Auditorium in Augusta for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Tom Mahoney. McIntyre had been billed as Southern Heavyweight Champion since September 19, 1952.

1958: Bill Lawley and Tiny Oxford wrestled to a draw in the main event at the Sports Arena in Atlanta for promoter Bill Collins.

1961: Assassin #1 defeated Jerry Graham in a handcuff match at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Assassin #2 joined Assassin #1 at the ring during the match. Following the match, Graham claimed that he had been blinded by a foreign substance by Assassin #1.

1967: Oki Yama defeated Avenger #2 in a loser unmasks match at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. As part of the stipulation, Avenger #2 was forced to unmask following the match, and was identified as Ramon Torres. Also, Mr. Wrestling defeated El Mongol. ‘Dandy’ Jack Crawford managed Mongol & Yama. The program for this card featured a picture of Tim Woods, whom Crawford was still claiming to be Mr. Wrestling. Jones reported in the program that he had grown tired of Mongol getting himself disqualified to keep the Georgia Heavyweight Title, and that he was considering suspending Mongol from all future bookings if he did not sign for a match with Mr. Wrestling waiving the disqualification rule. Crawford responded in the program to that threat that the match on this card would not be for the title, and that he would be calling Jones’ bluff. Tim Geohagen was credited as being the Advertising Manager for the Atlanta programs.

1970: Bob Armstrong & El Mongol defeated the Assassins in the main event at the Macon Coliseum for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward.

1972: Roberto Soto defeated Assassin #2 by disqualification to retain the Georgia Heavyweight Title at the Oglethorpe Gymnasium for All-South Wrestling Alliance promoter Ann Gunkel. Soto had been the reigning champion since he defeated Buddy Colt on May 5, 1972, in Atlanta, and although he earned recognition while wrestling for the Georgia Championship Wrestling promotion, Gunkel recognized him as such when he agreed to move to the ASWA. Also, Dick Steinborn & Argentina Apollo defeated the Hollywood Blonds (Jerry Brown & Buddy Roberts) to retain the Georgia Tag Team Title. Steinborn & Apollo had been the reigning Georgia Tag Team Champions since they defeated Ox Baker & Skandor Akbar on October 20, 1972, in Atlanta for GCW, and Gunkel recognized them as such when they moved to the ASWA as well.

1972: Although no definitive result is known to us at this time, we do know that Dory Funk, Jr., retained the NWA World Heavyweight Title in a match against Jack Brisco at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Funk, Jr., had been the reigning champion since he defeated Gene Kiniski on February 11, 1969, in Tampa, FL.

1978: Tony Atlas & Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Ole Anderson & Stan Hansen in the main event at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones.
