David Sheldon, perhaps most known throughout his career as the Angel of Death, passed away over the weekend at his home in Bedford, TX. The exact date and cause are not known at this time, but he was 43. He also was one of the many Black Scorpions, as well as a partner to Jack Victory as part of the Russian Assassins team for WCW.

1969: Doug Gilbert defeated Paul DeMarco, managed by Homer O’Dell to win the Georgia Heavyweight Title at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. DeMarco had been the reigning champion since he defeated Joe Scarpa on October 3, 1969, inAtlanta
1970: On the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral, Homer O’Dell, who managed Buddy Colt, told Capral that he was filing an appeal to uphold the decision in which Colt lost the Georgia Heavyweight Title to Ray Gunkel on November 27, 1970.
1972: Bob Armstrong won a $2,000 battle royal at the Macon Coliseum for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. Also participating were Tojo Yamamoto, Doug Gilbert, Hiro Matsuda, Jack Evans, Derrell Cochran, Roy Lee Welch, Bepo Mongol, Don Curtis, Geto Mongol, Jerry Jarrett, Eddie Graham, Buddy Colt, and Carlos Montez. Frank Dalton and Tony Russo had been scheduled for the battle royal, but failed to appear. Colt was being billed as the Southern Heavyweight Champion. It was announced that Ward had held up the Macon Tag Team Title due to an unruly match on November 21, 1972, between champions Tommy Seigler & Argentina Apollo and the Hollywood Blonds. Of course, in reality, he was declaring the title vacant as all four men had unexpectedly defected to the All-South Wrestling Alliance since that card.
1972: Tommy Seigler, Dick Steinborn, Roberto Soto & Argentina Apollo defeated Ox Baker, Assassin #2 & the Hollywood Blonds in the main event at the Savannah Civic Center for All-South Wrestling Alliance promoter Aaron Newman. Newman had been promoting for Georgia Championship Wrestling prior to this card since the 1950s, and would change his allegiance back shortly after this event.
1977: Bugsy McGraw & Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Ole Anderson & Stan Hansen by disqualification in the main event at the Macon Coliseum for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. McGraw had been billed as a mystery partner.
1981: A main event match between Michael Hayes and Austin Idol ended in a double disqualification at the Chattanooga (TN) Memorial Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones.
1985: Dusty Rhodes defeated NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair by disqualification in a title match at the Omni Auditorium inAtlanta Yokosuka , Japan Anderson Greensboro , NC , with only the Atlanta Greensboro
