Deep South Wrestling Results – Locust Grove, GA
Deep South Wrestling results from Locust Grove on July 5: Adrian Hawkins over Ryan Michaels; Sal Rinauro over Andrew Pendleton; Brodie Chase over Murder One; Simon Sermon over Caleb Konley; the Harley Crew over Rick Michaels & Thomas Britton; and the main event between Jeff Lewis and Austin Creed ended in a doubled disqualification.
It was reported that about 100 were in attendance. This was the first show back for Deep South Wrestling since they were dropped as a developmental territory for WWE. The next show is slated for July 12, and will feature a one-night tournament for the DSW Heavyweight Title.
Promoter Jody Hamilton had this to say following the event:
“The show last night was a new and very good experience for me. Having the opportunity to meet so many of the independent wrestlers (that certain people in certain positions look down their noses at) – to be able to talk to them and get some insight on what they want out the wrestling profession and what they are willing to do to achieve those goals – I’ve got to tell you, it inspired me. I am going to work very hard to get into a position to have a facility that these guys can go to and learn the things they need to learn. All I saw on this show was positive attitudes from guys that are willing to do whatever it takes to be in wrestling.
If I was going to grade the matches, I would use a 1-10 scale: Hawkins-Michaels match – Both kids worked very hard in the ring but lack experience, which is normal for their age. Both are cruiserweights. I give it a five (5); Rinauro-Pendleton match – Like most of the talent on the show they both lack experience. Both wrestlers worked very hard. I give it a six (6); Chase-M1 match – Match was a little slow, but I won't fault the effort on the part of both guys. They didn't accomplish what I wanted them to, but it wasn't because of lack of effort. I give it a five (5); Sermon-Konley match – Both are hard working guys that with a little experience and the proper guidance could be very good. I give it a strong six (6); Michaels/Britton-Harley match – A strong effort on behalf of all the talent, but they lack direction which I will provide as we go along. I give it a five (5); Lewis-Creed match – I like both of these kids very much and they both worked extremely hard. I see a lot of potential in both. I give it a seven (7).
What I was looking for on last nights show, I found. I didn't expect to see polished workers, and I didn't, what I was looking for was effort, attitude, dedication, ring work ethics, to be honest with everyone I was quite surprised, and pleased that I found all of these things at a much higher level that I had hoped for. To grade the show on ring ability on behalf of the talent I give it a six (6) overall: on effort, attitude, dedication, work ethics I give the show a nine (9).”
