FOR CM PUNK, KOFI & MICKIE JAMES…

 

Let's start out with the fact i have been to many signings for musicians, and wrestlers over the years.  This was terrible.  We get to Best Buy a little before 5 for a 6 o'clock signing.  The line is already outside probably 150 people deep.  So we have to wait outside. It is the coldest day of the year in New England today, probably around 20 degrees.  We brave the weather and make do with what we came to do. 

 

After awhile some people started to leave due to the cold weather.  People started getting restless up until 6 O'clock, then  6:15... then we hear that there is an accident on 93 and they are going to be late.  About 6:45 they show up and the line just isn't moving at all and we have seen very, very little of Best Buy employees the line starts moving rediculously slow and we are just watching the cold get worse, people getting mad. We get up to the double doors... start feeling heat.. and here it comes "They are done,  we can't let anyone else inside".  This did not sit well with a lot of parents whose kids started crying immediately.  This was about 8:30 I believe.  The cops have to get involved,  To me the Best Buy staff didn't really care about the people outside, only inside.   So people started yelling, and the staff did say they were going to stay an extra hour and 1/2 later due to the fact that they were late.  Which was great... but they already had close to 200 people inside the building and shut it off.   So... the obligatory soccer mom comment of "Why don't they come out here and tell these crying kids that they are done!"  was said.  Then the GM of the store said that they are trying to get "one of them" to come out but they are worried about security so we all had to move.  Mickie comes out and i was able to snap a picture and she gets on the loud speaker in the cop car and tells us how sorry she is and everyone is.... she didn't sign anything that I saw while she was out there.   Nor did she pose for pictures.... and that was it and then we left. 

 

I was disappointed for sure but that's life.  I figured my biggest reasons i was upset was that we barely saw any Best Buy staff outside in the freezing cold... or letting us know anything, then all of a sudden be told, "Goodbye".  They had a 2 hour window to sign, which is ridiculous in my opinion for 3 stars one of whom is HUGE over with the crowd... and has legions of fans.  It should have been scheduled a lot longer, I think.  Another thing that really bothered me was seeing kids cry over this.  That shouldn't happen and it sucks for them.  

 

Now I understand that these things aren't Punk, Kofi's or Mickies fault but these things need to be planned better... or do the wristband idea.. or something other than just showing up.  They advertise these signings on various websites, and then in the store they are going to advertises it.  They said 700 people showed up for this event and we were told "Usually only 200 people show up".  Then the kicker, " Wrestling's fake guys, get over it" We were told that by the GM.  

 

I wanted to get a tag title signed by both of them and an 8 X 10 of Mickie.. but we'll see what happens next time.  Anyone wanna swap stories of there time..
