Pro Wrestling Unplugged results; 2 COLD SCORPIO NEW CHAMPION!    ProWrestlingUnplugged.com

Pro Wrestling Unplugged showcased another amazing night with “EXIT SANDMAN”
at the New Alhambra Sports and Entertainment Center (aka ECW Arena) on
Friday night, June 23.

In an amazing, fast start to “EXIT SANDMAN”, DETOX and ARAMIS ran wild on
each other.  But before there could be an ultimate conclusion, KJ HELLFIRE
ran in to attack ARAMIS, causing DETOX to be disqualified.

In a tremendous match-up, the PWU WOMEN’S champion SUMIE SAKAI was able to
retain over MERCEDES MARTINEZ.  But Sakai wasn’t finished and announced
through translator DOC DANIELS that she was bringing DRAGONSGATE to PWU on
JULY 22!

For the PWU WORLD JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, champion DEVON MOORE was
challenged by former partner, DREW BLOOD.  BLOOD was escorted to the ring by
his current tag partner in THE UNDERDOGS, ASHE SAMUELS, who had no issues
with interjecting himself into the match up.  In an amazing contest that
also saw MOORE fly over the top rope, the ring barricade, & into the crowd
and eventually pull off a victory to retain his championship.

General Manager JOHN HOUSE made his way to the ring to award DEVON MOORE the
PWU ROOKIE OF THE YEAR.  However, PWU WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT champion TRENT ACID
had other ideas, trying to make the moment all about him.  But MOORE got
right back in ACID’s face, saying he wanted a shot at ACID’s title, putting
down his own title & saying he was just as able & deserving as ACID.

In what promised & delivered to be a bloody, vicious contest, IAN ROTTEN
took apart both CORPORAL ROBINSON and HELLAWARE ASSASSIN in an unbelievable
brawl.  But after the match, ROBINSON picked up MOORE’s discarded title belt
and claimed it as the PWU HARDCORE TITLE, saying it would be up for grabs on
JULY 22 between himself and IAN ROTTEN.

JOHNNY HOTBODY, “THE COMPLETE” PETE HUNTER, & “PITBULL” GARY WOLFE w/ the 7
FT. ANNIHILATION walked away with a victory against the KRASH KREW of KWAMI,
GEMINI, & REVEREND RON STARR, as well as the team of Z-BARR, JOHNNY CANDIDO,
& “THE RAW SUPERSTAR” NICK BERK w/ THE MAD DOCTOR DON BOOTZ, but it didn’t
stop all 11 men from brawling all the way into the back afterwards.

The PWU TAG TEAM champions THE SAT pulled away with a hard fought victory
over a battle against ALL MONEY IS LEGAL, but the war just got started as
AMIL ran through THE SAT with a ladder after the match & sent the champions
a big message that their challenge is not yet over.

In the first of two main events, the PWU WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE was on the
line between champion TRENT ACID and legend 2 COLD SCORPIO.  The match went
pillar to post, inside the ring & out, & tore through the crowd.  But
finally, 2 COLD SCORPIO walked away the NEW PWU WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

In a steel cage grudge match, SANDMAN tore through JOHNNY KASHMERE, finding
victory after a one armed power bomb through legos, marbles, and wrestling action figures.  Just when SANDMAN looked like he might get a measure of revenge on TOD GORDON, FRANCINE low blowed SANDMAN.  “PITBULL” GARY WOLF & PETE HUNTER ran in to beat down on SANDMAN.  Who made the save for SANDMAN?
None other than TOD GORDON!

But the PRO WRESTLING UNPLUGGED action is just getting started, as PWU makes
its way for “HOT STREAK” at Cavanaugh’s River Deck, 417 N. Columbus Blvd. in
Philadelphia THIS WEDNESDAY, June 28 and again on Wednesday, July 19.

Then, PWU returns to the New Alhambra Sports & Entertainment Center (aka ECW
Arena) on Saturday, July 22.

Night for Stars "Benefit for Evan Starsmore"
Eastmonte Civic Center
Altamonte Springs, Florida
17 June 2006

1) In cruiserweight action, Legion Cage (w/Gina Marie) def. Nooie Lee by pinfall in 8:33.   Referee: Kentucky Jordan.

Good first match, lots of aerial action, and Cage proves one needn't be from New York to be a despised heel northerner. Gina Marie shows lots of talent as a formidable wrestler herself. Nooie Lee, however, can dish it out and proved a worthy opponent for the veteran Cage, which is saying something with this show only Lee's second appearance in an SCW ring.

2) In tag-team action, Jason Sensation and Ryze def. Thomas Marr and Jaison Moore by pinfall in 11:28.
Referee: Les Adams.

This was a clinic in team chemistry. For some reason, Jason Sensation (a former tag-member of the now-defunct "Green Light District" of which Thomas Marr was a teammate) was on the same wavelength as Ryze, whose closest affiliation is with Violence Club. They worked together really well, really dictating the pace of the fight with their timing of tags and teamwork moves inflicting much pain. Their in-ring winning chemistry was in sharp contrast to Marr (and his entourage Amy Vitale and Lee Douglas) and Moore.

Marr would have preferred to single out Sensation for a beating, Moore seemed embarrassed to be in their company. Moore, having declared at the beginning of the match that he STILL feels slighted by NWA-TNA Talent Coordinator Larry Zbyzsko for reneging on his promise at granting him a shot in NWA-TNA IMPACT!, seemed to want to win the match if only to get a closer shot at evening the score with Zbyzsko. Marr's aloof attitude and lack of consideration for his teammate wasn't helping; so no chemistry, no teamwork, no cooperation, no nothing. Sensation and Ryze deserved the win.

Thomas Marr would get his comeuppance, though.

Dagon Briggs, the new SCW Florida Heavyweight Champion, called Marr out, putting his title on the line.

3) In an impromtu title match Dagon Briggs def. Thomas Marr by pinfall in 7:13.
Referee: Les Adams.

Considering the previous tag-team match showed Marr would prefer someone else fight his battles, this match actually forced him to fight. He was motivated by the opportunity for new gold around his waist, but Briggs, with a savage, "crazy-eyes" fighting energy, pretty much proved to an appreciative Altamonte Springs crowd that Marr's "above it all" attitude was unjustified.

4) In Tag-team action, Team Vision (Chasyn Rance and Mister Saint Laurent, accompanied to the ring by manager So Cal Val) def. Dan Blocker and Dragon Warrior by DOUBLE pinfall in 12:13.
Referee: Les Adams...for about fifteen seconds.

THEN...Larry Zbyzsko insinuated himself into the ring, wearing WCW regulation zebra-stripes. Addressing the wrestlers and the crowd, he insisted that given the rocky history he has with Team Vision (recall Zbyzsko CLOCKED Mister Saint Laurent with his own SCW Florida Heavyweight Belt, taking him out of wrestling for more than a year and leaving the title vacant until Dagon Briggs earned the championship via tournament this May) he would be a fair and impartial official for the match.

Les Adams, a dignified gentleman who needlessly suffers a humiliation from time to time as a referee, conceded his officiating duties to Zbyzsko, though under protest.

Rance and MSL have been tag-teaming for upwards of three years in this and other promotions. Dan Blocker and Dragon Warrior showed some good journeyman fighting skills, but as a tag-team they were surgically exploited and ultimately vanquished by better technique, strength, and the ability to mess with their heads.

The "coup de grace" of "Blocker-and-Dragon-Warrior-head-messing" was when Larry Zbyzsko interfered with the match in the closing seconds, setting up a rare double-pinfall victory. He then announced he is now a member of Team Vision! Yes, in an announcement that will likely make him no friends in Altamonte Springs, Zbyzsko replaces Manny Montana (not seen in Team Vision since 2004) as the newest member of the notorious fighting cabal managed by So Cal Val and starring "Not Cocky" Chasyn Rance and "The Most Important Man Alive" Mister Saint Laurent.

-------------------------
INTERMISSION
-------------------------

SCW Chairman Michael Cade came in the ring to help promote the next show, "Ring Wars" in Cocoa, Florida on June 24th. He was running down the line-up until the PA speakers played an Arabic cantor singing what sounded like an islamic call to prayer.

Then, this OPEC-minister Arab Sheik type (with Ray-Ban Aviators and the Yasser Arafat "head rag" and everything) CARRYING AN OSAMA BIN LADEN BOXING PUPPET, steps into the ring and, like David Mercury, Legion Cage, and Larry Zbyzsko before him, heaps EVEN MORE ABUSE on the crowd--This time calling us all infidels and swine!

He introduces himself as Sheik Omar Abdel Akbar and warns that the time of American dominance in independent pro wrestling is nearly at an end. At the "Ring Wars" show, he will introduce a wrestler under his management that will inflict "jihad" upon any American pig-dog-swine-infidel-blah-blah-blah that faces him.

5) In title defense action, Victor Creed def. David Mercury by pinfall in 11:14 to keep the SCW Southern Heavyweight Championship.
Referee: Kentucky Jordan

Think "Jacksonville Strong Style" vs "Tampa Strong Style". In the end, there can be only one. A fine technical match, but the speed of Creed's torque on his neck-breaker move is almost too sick to watch. Creed earned this one, but David Mercury reminded many SCW fans what awesome action they've been missing in his absence.

6) In a special-attraction main event (Best of three falls with a 30-minute time limit), Erick Stevens and Aaron Epic drew one fall each before the 30-minute time expired.
Referee: Les Adams.

This was an ironman-quality match that is a rare treat in a SCW ring. Stevens, who some may remember as sharing the 2005 FLRankings.com Match of the Year honors in his fight against Vordell Walker in SCW's ring on April 30, 2005, continues to cultivate a reputation of barbaric pain delivery in other promotions (FIP comes readily to mind).

They went the distance. After a hard-fought match, Stevens and Epic hugged and raised each other's hands in victory before an appreciative crowd. Epic took the mic to thank everyone for coming, and let everyone know how important this was for him to do this show for Evan's honor and benefit. He chose Evan to be the Godfather to his yet-unborn daughter, so the long friendship they have made this charity match the least he could do in this challenging time for his friend.

The show concluded with the ring crew, back office, officials, and locker room all joined in the ring to pose for goodwill photos and to wish Evan a speedy recovery.
