Last year, Ivan Koloff made headlines for his serious car accident. Now, less than a year later, the former WWWF Champion has joined ClubWWI.com for a one hour discussion about that and many other aspects of his career.
Ivan spoke to James Guttman about the accident, what happened, his recovery, and the outpouring of support he received. Koloff also discussed why Nikita Koloff never became world champion, the shocking scene following his win over Bruno Sammartino, Undertaker, Goldberg, Batista, breaking into wrestling, his book, IvanKoloff.com, Why Verne Gagne slapped him in the head, Vince McMahon, and much more.
One point that James brought up was the WWE Hall of Fame. Bruno Sammartino is a glaring omission from the Hall, but so is Ivan. As a former Champion, it seems fitting that he be inducted. Guttman asked whether or not WWE has ever expressed interest and whether he would accept if they did.
"Well, I haven't heard anything from them, but yeah. I'd be interested for sure. I'm a firm believer with my ministry that I capitalize on any situation out there that would promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To me, if they'd give me the honor of being in the HOF for WWE, I'm not here to judge them. I would love and res the fact of being able to get up and say thank you not only to fans, not only to Vince McMahon, but above all, my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. It would be awesome to have that platform to do that."
Ivan goes on to speak about how although he doesn't approve of the content on the shows, it would still be honored to be in the Hall. He also answers those who might say you can’t do both, as well as many other topics in his full 60 minute ClubWWI.com shoot.
