After IWC's explosive New Beginning Too in January, what will February bring?
IWC World Heavyweight Title Rematch:
RICKY REYES defends against "The Shooter" BRENT ALBRIGHT
The Dragon Sleeper vs. The Crowbar. Last month, we predicted that the IWC World Heavyweight Title match between champion Ricky Reyes and challenger Brent Albright would come down to that: the Dragon Sleeper vs. the Crowbar. Who's finisher is better? After a grueling back-and-forth contest, Reyes was able to lock in the Dragon Sleeper, and Albright tapped out. Reyes, always the respectful champion, offered his hand to Albright. Albright accepted, but immediately demanded a rematch against Reyes. IWC officials granted it, and now, "The Shooter" will once again challenge the "Havana Pitbull" for his IWC World Heavyweight Title!
IWC Super Indy Title Match - NO TIME LIMIT!
"Balls Hot" TROY LORDS defends against "Fabulous" JOHN McCHESNEY
For five years, Troy Lords crawled and clawed his way up the IWC ladder. His first shot at the IWC Super Indy Title came against his mentor, Super Hentai, on July 20th, 2002. He came up short in that attempt. His next shot came in January 2006 as he challenged then-champion "Fabulous" John McChesney. Troy earned himself a spot in Super Indy V as he was able to take McChesney to a 20-minute time limit draw. Fast forward to Super Indy V. HENTAI costs Troy Lords his next Super Indy Title shot, injuring his knee prior to the Super Indy V finals against Delirious. That knee injury hindered Lords in his rematch against Delirious in June. After he battled HENTAI in November in the Match of the Year for 2006, Lords was granted a rematch against McChesney, who had since regained the Super Indy Title. January 19th, 2007, Lords once again took McChesney to the limit, going to a 20-minute draw with the champion. But, after the fans, Lords, and McChesney all demanded "five more minutes" from the referee, Lords was able to capitalize on a super brainbuster, and pinned McChesney. After all his years of struggle, Troy Lords finally won the Super Indy Title. But, would he have won without the five minute overtime? That is the scenerio McChesney presented IWC officials. After his loss, a frustrated McChesney refused to shake Lords' hand, and went right to IWC officials and demanded a rematch with no time limit. So on February 17th at Court Time Sports Center, Troy Lords and John McChesney will accept NO limitations as their match will be held without the standard Super Indy Title Match time limit!
SJK's Road to the Title Continues
STERLING JAMES KEENAN vs. LOW KI
It's been a successful road to the title for SJK so far. He has defeated "Sweet N Sour" Larry Sweeney, Vendetta, and former Super Indy Champion Delirious in the past 3 months. But no challenge he has met is anything like the brick wall his road runs into on February 17th. The former Super Indy Champion, X-Division Champion, and ROH World Champion Low Ki is next on SJK's road to the title. Not many men have been able to stop Ki in the past in IWC, let alone anywhere else. His vicious chops and kicks, in addition to his intense offensive attack, make him one of the most dangerous men on the IWC roster. SJK's road to the title was inevitably going to run through Low Ki... but is he ready?
Six-Man Tag Team Action!
BABYFACE FIRE (Shiima Xion & Jason Gory) & DANSHOKU DINO vs. SEXUAL HARASSMENT (Eric Xtasy & Justin Idol) & CHRIS MAVERICK
After their title defense against Sexual Harassment in January, BabyFace Fire attempted to get revenge on their former business manager, Chris Maverick. But, he was able to escape before they could get their hands on him. Maverick was a thorn in Gory's side for years, constantly interfering and attacking him in his attempt to rid IWC, and later, Shiima, of Jason Gory. Xion, on the other hand, considered Maverick a close friend, confidant, and business partner. Maverick betrayed Xion, and Shiima wants him to pay. However, they can't take Sexual Harassment lightly. Since they didn't want to take them on in a handicap match, Shiima called in a favor from a friend of his. He met this friend while touring Japan with the DDT promotion, and they shared a common bond in IWC. His friend is Danshoku Dino, former tag team partner of former IWC star Glenn Spectre. Dino is the man who made Glenn Spectre... what he was. To call Dino "unique" is not enough of a word. His alternative lifestyle spills over into his wrestling, and Shiima considered him the best way to combat the also alternatively lifestyled Eric Xtasy. How will Xtasy contend with somebody even more.. odd than he is?
Super Indy VI Qualifying Match
HENTAI vs. KUDO
HENTAI and Dean Radford proved they are still a force to be reckoned with, even without the Unholy Alliance behind them. At A New Beginning Too, they were able to defeat the Gambino Brothers, albeit with help from some powder. But, a win is a win, and now they're out to prove they can do something in the singles ranks as well. While Radford will be taking on Vendetta, HENTAI is trying to earn another spot in the Super Indy tournament. HENTAI, who won the first Super Indy tournament and competed in Super Indy II and III, will be taking on the returning Japanese sensation KUDO! KUDO had some trouble with HENTAI last year when he came back to IWC. HENTAI had no opponent at The Road To Super Indy V, so KUDO stepped up and took on the rogue Alliance member. HENTAI came up victorious, but later in the night, KUDO was able to gain a measure of revenge as he helped then-Team IWC member Radford take out Sebastian Dark and HENTAI. This year, the ante has been upped, and both men are competing for a spot in Super Indy VI.
3-on-2 Tag Team Title Eliminator:
THE CLEVELAND MAFIA (J-Rocc & Raymond Rowe) vs. THE GAMBINO BROTHERS MOVING COMPANY (Mickey Gambino, Marshall Gambino, & "DeeeeLicious" Jimmy DeMarco)
The Cleveland Mafia and The Family have been at each others throats for almost a year. The Gambinos have been battling J-Rocc for 2 years, going back to the formation of the Ohio Players. But, for the last year, J-Rocc has had the man mountain known as Raymond Rowe by his side in this war. Many men have tried to take out Rowe, but many have failed. That is, until January 19th when the Gambinos, Jimmy DeMarco, and Vendetta all teamed up to take out Rowe, who was alone as J-Rocc was out of town dealing with a family matter. This blood feud takes the next step on February 17th with a Tag Team Title Eliminator! The winners will not receive a title shot at the next event, but reserve the right to a title shot sometime in the near future! Plus, the Cleveland Mafia have announced that their pact will be revealed on Saturday night. What kind of pact will they reveal?
Rematch from A New Beginning Too
"Showtime" ERIC YOUNG vs. "Sweet N Sour" LARRY SWEENEY
Larry Sweeney is finally back on the winning track. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, we're not sure yet. His first win in a long time came at the expense of the debuting Paranoid Pied Piper of TNA, "Showtime" Eric Young. Sweeney cheated his way into a spot in the Super Indy VI Tournament by pinning Young with his feet on the ropes. But, the IWC faithful sung Young's praises, chanting "Don't Fire Eric!" on behalf of the newest IWC star. IWC officials listened and have granted Young a rematch with the outlandish star from Redondo Beach, California!
NOBUTAKA MORIBE vs. AMERICAN BALLOON
Originally supposed to be Moribe vs. Jason Cage, Cage unfortunately had to pull out of this event due to a family emergency. IWC wishes him and his family well. His scheduled opponent, Nobutaka Moribe, impressed IWC fans and officials with his performance last month at A New Beginning Too. A protege of former WWF and ECW star Dick Togo, Moribe competed in another Super Indy VI Qualifying Match against Azrieal. Moribe's in-ring tribute to his idol, Eddie Guerrerro caught the eye of the fans, and while he was also defeated, he made an impact on the fans, who want to see more of this Japanese star. Taking Cage's place will be the wrestling sensation making waves in Japan and on the internet, American Balloon! Balloon first made his name in the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles. He was a prized student of Kendo Ka Shin until he caught the eye of former WWF and WCW star Ultimo Dragon. Traveling to Mexico, Balloon debuted for Dragon's Toryumon Mexico in December 2005. Recently, Balloon made a huge impact in Japan for the DDT promotion, and earned himself a spot on the DDT team in the upcoming Chikara King of Trios tournament. Will he be able to make the same impact on IWC as he has elsewhere?
DEAN RADFORD vs. VENDETTA
These two powerhouses will meet for the first time on February 17th! Dean Radford & HENTAI proved that they can be successful without the Unholy Alliance, even though they used powder to get their win over the Gambino Brothers. But now, both men are out to take over the singles ranks. HENTAI has his sights set on the Super Indy division, while Radford continues to target the younger members of the roster. Previously having dominated Jason Gory and Jason Cage in the last few months, Vendetta is next on Radford's list. The outspoken, brash young star has taken IWC by storm, speaking his mind and racking up victories. Recently, he has put aside his issue with "DeeeeLicious" Jimmy DeMarco and joined up with the Gambinos to form The Family. Will The Family have his back when he goes against the locker room traitor Radford?
BUBBA THE BULLDOG vs. MICHAEL "The Bomber" FACADE
In the past few months, IWC fans may recall that Bubba the Bulldog has been calling out former protege Kurt Angle in an attempt to lure him into the ring... or, some have speculated, make his name at the expense of Angle like he has Shane Douglas, Eric Angle, and many many others. His opponent the last two events, Michael "The Bomber" Facade, has been on the receiving end of Bubba's tirades, with Bubba finishing Facade off with Angle's finishing moves, the Olympic Slam and the Ankle Lock. The mysterious "Bomber" sent word to IWCwrestling.com that he has a surprise for Bubba this weekend at Accept No Limitations 3. What will the newcomer have in store for the Pittsburgh veteran?
