IWF to Establish Record for 'Longest Wrestling Match' September 9-10:
24-Hour Charity Wrestlethon to Benefit Twin Towers Orphan Fund, Red Cross, United Way

(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- The Independent Wrestling Federation will establish a world-record for the 'Longest Wrestling Match' to benefit several worthy causes.  Beginning Saturday, September 9, 2 pm, and continuing through Sunday, September 10, 2 pm, Camp IWF Wrestling School stars compete in a 24-hour charity Wrestlethon at IWF Centre, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ.

"During this unprecedented Wrestlethon of bodyslams and dropkicks, we will compete for an amazing 24 consecutive hours in a continuous round-robin match," said IWF trainer Kevin Knight.  "Family, friends, fans and community members can financially sponsor a wrestler, with 100-percent of the proceeds donated on their behalf to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund."

The Fund (ttof.org) was created to provide long-term high education assistance and mental and physical healthcare to children who were orphaned by the attacks of September 11, 2001.

A clothing drive will be hosted at IWF Centre during Wrestlethon.  Visitors can drop-off items donated to For a Cause Inc at Red Cross of Metropolitan NJ (RedCrossMetroNJ.org) which serves Passaic, Essex and West Hudson counties.  Clothing proceeds benefit fire disaster relief, assist medical transportation for seniors and meals-on-wheels service.

A nonperishable food drive for United Way of Passaic County (UnitedWayPassaic.org) will be conducted.  Hunger is a concern that needs to be addressed on a daily basis, as there has been a 30-percent increase in the number of people receiving assistance from food pantries in the county.

Wrestlethon is open to the public and a monetary, clothing or food donation is requested of each visitor to IWF Centre.  For information visit
