Another great John Cena autograph signing.

Once again thanks to Mike Siciliano for his update on the John Cena Autograph Signing at New York Sports Works, Inc.

Another month, another chapter of my personal quest continues through WWE and New York Sports Works out in Massapequa, Long Island, New York.  Last night, the WWE champion, and #1 Raw draft lottery pick, John Cena, and Smackdown diva Michelle McCool graced the Sunrise Mall with their presence for an autograph session.

Arriving there 4 hours ahead of schedule, I was able to witness the subtle growth of the crowd from die hards who waited there forever, (and there was about 20 or 30 of them), to the bulk of the crowd, by 6pm, the former Old Navy store on the 2nd floor of the mall was teaming from corner to corner with people interested in talking and getting autographs from the WWE superstars.

Now, I have said this many times before, and this is the sixth time I have had the pleasure of meeting the WWE's future, that being the CHAMP, and I have to say this.  It impresses me to no end that someone who does so many autograph sessions like John does, he can remember certain faces in the crowd.  Let me elaborate, quickly.

A few months back, when John was last here, the first words he said to us when we approached, (we were first in line back then, because I had done another marathon waiting session), was "How come is it whenever I'm here, these guys are first in line?"  We had a good joke with the Doctor of Thugonomics, and made a solemn promise to ourselves that we would be back to prove a point to John and be first in line again.

Well, we succeeded, and he appeared to be geniunely touched, calling it, "really special" that we made the effort to be there for him.  He also showed some genuine concern for my well being, as I was quickly able to tell him about some of the rough waters I, and my family have been wading through these past few months.

I can't tell you how impressed I am that a celebrity, ANY celebrity, can personalize such a quick experience like that.  Even back in Howard Beach, when we first met John and he had a polaroid taken with my kids and I, at HIS request, he has been nothing short of a consummate professional towards myself, my wife, and my three children.  He exudes class, and dignity for himself, for the championship, and for the company.  Trash his skills anyway you'd like, ladies and gentlemen, but I promise you this.  John Cena is the future of professional wrestling, his time is now, and I suspect his time will continue for as long as he can deliver.

And, as far as this family goes, he delivers, every week.

Special kudos do go out to Michelle McCool.  I have to say, I felt a little sorry for her, because the pop from the area where the signing was held was unreal for John, but I doubt many of the people in the crowd were there to see Michelle.  She still kept a positive outlook, at least externally, and she was cordial towards me when I offered my best wishes to her in her upcoming match this week on Smackdown against Melina.

Now, don't let me go in to the thoughts of why WWE booked this match, actually, you could, but it'd be a good idea to check out my column on http://www.wrestleview.com, that would be a better place for discussing something like that.

The crowd, as I said, was tremendous.  They were pumped up, all over the place, (the young ones especially), and it seemed to grow as time progressed.  I don't have any official word, but I'd be shocked if John and Michelle didn't stay till the mall closed, again, to satisfy the growing amount of people who came for their autographs.

A special and heartfelt thank you go to Mike, Alex, and the boys at New York Sports Works for once again, going above and beyond the call of duty for my family and I.  I highly recommend anyone in the Long Island area to come and check out their store, or visit them on their website at http://www.newyorksportsworksinc.com.

Thanks for the opportunity, once again, to come over and contribute, Georgie.
