Detroit Lions Draft.. Psycho Sid, Blackman Found.. Mistico.. Muhammad Ali.. Ken Shamrock.. Famous Pro Wrestling States.. “Naitch and The King” as tag partners?.. Wade Boggs = A Perfect Fit.. Vader Time

What a busy week, but never too busy to answer a few of your comments. Let’s get started Pilgrim ‘cause we’re burning daylight…….

The Detroit Lions draft is crucial for them considering their recent past history in the draft. I feel the Lions need a QB and Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn might be your guy. The Lions, who my friend Oklahoma Teddy Lehman plays LB for, have many needs but as we have all seen it is tough to win the big game in the NFL with a strong QB. Lehman is attending Wrestlemania this year as a matter of fact.

My thoughts on Psycho Sid resuming his wrestling career are “more power to him”. Sid had “it” and was blessed with unique physical gifts, but some say he will not be the same guy after his severe leg injury in WCW. I don’t know if that is true but regaining the in-ring edge after being somewhat dormant is a tall order.

Thanks for those of you who let us know that the stoic but tough as a $2 steak Steve Blackman has a mixed martial arts school in Harrisburg, Pa. I wish Steve great success. He is a legit bad-ass.

I have never seen Mistico wrestle but I have read that he is special. I know he had a non-televised match with the WWE a few weeks ago on the West coast, but I have heard nothing about him being signed or wanting to sign with the WWE. I know Rey Mysterio is a big fan of Mistico’s, so that essentially is enough of an endorsement for me.

The Rock will not be at Wrestlemania as far as I know, unless it is one of the best planned surprises in recent memory.

I don’t know when I will be near Owensboro, KY but if I am I will definitely check out Old Hickory BBQ. Just like the Brisco Brothers Body Shop, “It’s worth the drive.”

Muhammad Ali never wrestled in the Mid South, but he was in the corner of the Snowman in the New Orleans Superdome once upon a time and ended up punching Jake “The Snake” Roberts. I spent 3 special days with Muhammad Ali and we even shared a 2 bedroom suite at the Hyatt across the way from the `Dome. “The Champ” was and is a special human being.

Vader is still living in Colorado, along with Stan Hansen, but in separate cities, and continues to perform on a limited basis primarily in Japan. Vader’s son Jesse White is a medical red shirt on the OU football team after being the #1 Center prospect in America his senior year at Denver Mullen High School.

Does Snitsky remind me of Nailz? Now that you mention it, perhaps so. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Ken Shamrock’s wrestling skills improved tremendously while he was in the WWE. Ken is a great athlete and has an amazing will to win and to be the best. I wish Kenny would have stayed in the WWE but I certainly understand that his first love is MMA. Shamrock was one of the more underrated wrestlers to compete in the WWE in years.

When will Ric Flair be inducted into the HOF? He’s already in my personal HOF for the record, but it isn’t if with Ric, but when and I would suggest within the next year or two.

What state has the most pro wrestling tradition as it relates to developing young wrestlers who went on to become stars? Obviously Minnesota, Texas, and Florida come to mind off the top of my head. I am sure there are other states that have developed some great ones but those 3 states stand out to me.

I have no significant comments to make regarding Joey Mercury’s release except that it is truly unfortunate and a shame. Under the circumstances the termination was the only decision that could be made.

The Boogeyman and the Godfather are not related, to the best of my knowledge. The next time I am in Vegas, the Godfather and I have a domino game planned.

The Undertaker has been a 4-time WWE Champion, but never the recognized World Champion. Taker and I discussed this very topic Monday in Chicago.

The Wrestlemania announcer assignments have yet to be made or at least the word hasn’t spread to Norman, Oklahoma. I know some the RAW matches I will commentate, but am still awaiting word on the mixed branded matches that will be featured, including the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, the Women’s Title Match, and Kane-Khali.

Will Vince McMahon ever buy out TNA? I did not realize TNA was for sale.

Who writes J.R.’s blogs? That would be me, Jim Ross.

I am not sure what happened with the timing of the Raw show Monday night, but we had one more commercial break we were obligated to take and came back for the final segment with simply a recap of the tag team main event. We may have had a minute or so for the last segment so there really wasn’t time to do much else. Hey, it’s live TV and anything can happen.

I like someone’s idea of a fantasy/dream tag team of Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler for many reasons. One, the promos from the two would be off the page and would teach some young bucks the art of communicating. For the record, there are no plans for this to occur, but it would be fun to see nonetheless for many long time fans like me.

Why is Wade Boggs inducting Mr. Perfect at the HOF Ceremony? Because they were good friends over many years and MLB HOF’er Boggs is a fan and friend of the biz. Heenan is inducting Nick Bockwinkel.

Beef Jerky Mania is alive and here on our site and I hope you will check out our special offers we have for a personally signed cap and some DELICIOUS Beef Jerky. Your business is greatly appreciated by the Ross Family.
