Alfred State College presents Ballpark Brawl VII “Survival of the Fittest” brought to you by Taco Bell and Miller Lite – Sunday, August 27^th at Dunn Tire Park in beautiful downtown Buffalo, New York. “We have the current stars of the industry along side the future stars of wrestling. In addition, we will have stars from various federations competing against one another, in some cases, for the first time and in other cases for the last time. This will be the largest show we have ever produced. Combining the pre-show and the main show we will have thirteen matches and utilize nearly fifty wrestling talents. Each match is a main event somewhere else,” said Ballpark Brawl spokesperson Christopher Hill.

So where do we begin?

NATURAL Heavyweight Title Tournament

Samoa Joe, Steve Corino, Christopher Daniels & ???

Last year, current WWE Superstar Charlie Haas defeated former champ Christopher Daniels and Chris Sabin to become the fourth NATURAL Heavyweight Champion. The next day he faced WWE star Harry Smith and defended the title. However, as everyone knows Charlie has rejoined the WWE. In doing so, we were left without a champion. Mr. Haas was stripped of the title and the Ballpark Brawl Executive Team decided to hold a one day tournament on August 27^th to determine who should hold the title next.

The NATURAL Heavyweight title tournament looks to pit the absolute top talent in the indy world today. The Samoan Submission Machine - Samoa Joe, the most requested indy talent in America, takes on the former ECW Heavyweight Champion and the King of Old School – Steve Corino. It has been four years since these two have met in the states, never on the East Coast. A lot has changed for both men over those years. Corino has gained near legendary status in Japan while Samoa Joe’s career has taken off like a rocket the past year and a half. Will the mind games of the more experienced veteran Corino be able to overcome Joe’s pure brute force? One thing for sure this will be stiff encounter that will put the victor in the main event final but what shape will he be in?

The other end of the bracket we have Christopher Daniels, the “Fallen Angel” and the third NATURAL title holder ever. Last July, he defeated AJ Styles in an amazing best out of three falls match. Now he is anxious to get the title back around his waist. Standing in his way is…is…is not announced. Much controversy is surrounding the final entrant and negotiations have been on going. There are two candidates, each with their own set of issues. Regardless of which one is chosen both talents have never faced Christopher Daniels one on one in the ring…ever.

Tired of waiting? Tune in to Ballpark Brawl Vision (formerly known as WrestleVision July 30^th on UPN 18 (WBGT-TV Rochester) at 3pm where we will reveal the final entrant to the tournament! There is a repeat of the episode Tuesday at 1am. In Corning, you can see the episode on FOX WYDC-TV at 12:30pm on Sunday.

So the main event will feature either Samoa Joe or Steve Corino vs. Christopher Daniels or his opponent in what should be an amazing final.

However, there are rumors that they may not be alone. There is a history of the NATURAL title being defended in a 3 way dance (BPB III Teddy Hart vs. AJ Styles vs. Sabu / BPB V Christopher Daniels vs. Charlie Haas vs. Chris Sabin) but these always happened the day of the show. Why would they announce someone added to the match in advance? Who has the stroke to get a bye to the finals? What could this person bring to the match that would enable all these things to happen? Still more questions than answers but I guarantee all questions will be answered on Sunday, August 27^th!

Monty Brown vs. ?

Former Buffalo Bill Monty Brown returns to Buffalo for the first time since his appearance in Super Bowl XXVIII. A lot has been discussed about this powerhouse and we promised him and our fans someone worthy to confront him. The downtown Serengeti will be a wasteland of the bodies of the unworthy and after the dust settles there will only be one, a survival of the fittest.

Ok, was that a little over the top? Maybe, bottom line is we have someone in store for Monty that he has never seen. If we announced him it would be a giant announcement but we aren’t. You’ll have to see it live. The unstoppable force will meet the immovable object!

LOW KI

How does the silent assassin fit into the mix? Low Ki s one of the hardest hitting physical talents in wrestling. His kicks are legendary and his attitude defines intense. He is on a mission. There is only one target. Has that target been announced or is that person a surprise? Is the enemy of his enemy a friend? Only those in attendance will find out. Only they will see the nature of a man bent on one mission. A man willing to sacrifice it all to send a receipt and to destroy his past. Even if that means dealing with the devil himself…

Six Man Futures Match

The traditional 6 man Futures match is starting to shape up nicely. Last years final six man featured two men who are currently in the WWE (Matt Striker & Harry Smith). This year we have scanned the globe to find the next people to see on Monday nights. Chris Hero competed on Ballpark Brawl VI in the Rochester Rumble. Many people are starting to take notice of his talents and over the top style. There have been many phone calls to Japan and we are pleased to have Milano Collection AT in the match. He takes high flying to a new degree of crispness and impact. For his appearance you will only need the edge of your seat. (Yea, I know corny…but true). Delirious takes antics to a new degree. This masked athlete from the Edge of Sanity uses an unorthodox style to frustrate his opponents then finishes them of with his pump handle piledriver the “Chemical Imbalance.”

One of the final three spots will go to the winner of the Young Lions Match-up during the pre-show between Phil Atlas and John McChesney. Both have impressed WWE & TNA officials. Atlas has become a mainstay in New Vision Pro Wrestling utilizing a high powered aerial attack with a skill set the belies his young years. He is their current Cruiserweight Champion. McChesney just returned from an unfortunate encounter with Umaga during a recent Monday Night RAW. However, he is in the radar sights of a lot of area and national promoters and is the current NWA Upstate No Limits Champion. Who will survive to join six top talents for a chance at a future title shot? And just who are taking the final two spots in the match? Stay tuned for at least one very big announcement.

Tag Team Table Turmoil

Backseat Men, Outcast Killaz, Winners of the Upstate 8, Sterling James Keenan & ?

So where do you want to go from there? How about one of the most violent matches we have ever had at a Brawl…the Tag Team Tables Turmoil Match. The rules are simple just propel your opponent through a table and he is eliminated…but not his partner. Lots have already been drawn and we will begin with the winners of the Upstate 8 Tag Tournament (NWA Upstate) that happens the day before. They will start against one of the preeminent tag teams in the nation…The Backseat Men – Johnny Kashmere and Trent Acid. What happens if the Backseats win the NWA Upstate tournament? Then we will just have to add another team the day of! Once one member of a team is put through a table by their opponent the next team to the ring will be none other than the Outcast Killaz! The team that defeated the Backseat Men to open BPB IV.

Once another person is eliminated then our final “team” will be released. Unlike the previous teams the next group will be a pairing of local rivals as Sterling James Keenan will team with the current NWA Upstate Heavyweight Champion Brodie Lee! Will these two be able to contain their hatred for each other long enough to compete or will they each work to eliminate the other? One thing is for sure we are breaking our budget on tables! At the end of this match seven men will have been propelled through wood and metal. Doctors and EMT’s will be on hand to help protect the unprotectable. It will be absolute mayhem with only one team OR one man standing. There are no winners in this one.

Women’s Tag Team Action

T & A (Talia Madison & April Hunter) vs. Daizee Haze & Cherry Bomb

April Hunter is no stranger to the Brawls having appeared at BPB IV, V & VI but she is a stranger to the pay window. This time she brings her tag partner the beautifully dangerous Talia Madison. Will two be better than one? One thing is for sure they plan on showing everyone why something that beautiful can hurt so much!

Opposing them will be independent superstar Daizee Haze and local newcomer Cherry Bomb. There is no question that despite Haze’s extensive experience this team comes in as an underdog. Cherry Bomb, the Southern Ontario performer, will have to fight the jitters of performing for her hometown in the biggest match of her young career.

And for those fans of previous women’s matches, yes, we have signed the stunningly picturesque Jennifer Blake to call the action right down the middle. And yes, she will wear THAT outfit.

Technical Greatness with the United States vs. Switzerland

“Classic” Colt Cabana vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Sometimes technical matches are just plain boring. Not with these guys as two of the top indy technical wrestlers will compete for the pride of their respected countries. Claudio brings a very strong opinion of himself along for the ride while Colt’s fun loving attitude is just looking for a fight. This match has all the making of a true “classic.” Plus they both have CC as their initials how can you go wrong!

New Vision Pro vs. NWA Empire vs. NWA Upstate - Future Futures 6 man Elimination Match

Some of the best this area has to offer from some of the top feds in the nation. Unlike feds in other parts of the nation the groups here work together. At least to get the match started then it will be everyman for themselves. They may be in the same fed but in this match it is everyone for themselves until we get down to the last man standing.

New Vision Pro Wrestling Tag Title Match

The Italiano’s vs. ?

To my knowledge this will be the first time that a New Vision title will be defended outside of Canada. This is the second time a Canadian title was defended at the Brawl. At BPB 3 Derek Wylde defeated the then champion Cody Steele to become the Neo Spirit Pro Independent Champ. It will be the Italian wrecking balls of Primo & Stickball vs. a top challenger from Western New York. We know their manager will be with them. This other teams needs to make sure they have someone to keep an eye out for him!

First Ever Brawl “Young Lions” Match up

Phil Atlas vs. “Fabulous” John McChesney

One of the most talked about matches on the show will be the main event for our pre-show. Both of these guys are on the radar screen for the big two and it is only a matter of time before they are on your tv regularly. McChesney recently appeared against Umaga on Monday Night RAW. While he did not come out on top he did put in an impressive performance. Locally, he has captured the NWA Upstate No Limits Title and has rapidly become the top cruiserweight in Western New York.

Atlas is the current New Vision Cruiserweight champion and competes regularly in Ontario where he has developed a very loyal fan base. His high flying style has amazed talent and promoters alike. This is a battle to determine the best this area has to offer right now.
