07/22/08) YONKERS - Former professional wrestler "The Sandman" spent another night in jail Tuesday, due to a system glitch, for his alleged role in a restaurant fight.

James Fullington, 45, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

He was attending a birthday party for former wrestler Captain Lou Albano, a Mount Vernon native, Sunday at La Lanterna Restaurant in Yonkers. Police say Fullington threw drinking glasses at the restaurant staff, then at police. Two Yonkers officers were injured while taking the 6-foot-4, 280-pound suspect into custody.

Fullington was given a psychiatric exam, because of his behavior, at a local hospital before being taken to jail.

Bail was not set during the arraignment for the Pennsylvania resident because the judge didn't have Fullington's criminal records at hand. "Without a rap sheet, they can't really set bail," Fullington's attorney, John Lewis, explains. "It's a stressful experience."

Fullington reportedly spent 10 years in and out of prison for bar fights before becoming an Extreme Championship Wrestling star. He also spent six months in solitary confinement for allegedly punching out a prison guard.

Fullington is due back in court Wednesday.
