07/23/08) YONKERS -

Former professional wrestler the "Sandman" was ordered held without bail Wednesday after a judge saw his rap sheet.

The judge decided to hold Sandman, whose real name is James Fullington, based on the Pennsylvania resident's two prior felonies in that state. Fullington's children left the courthouse in tears after learning of the news.

"Even if the judge wanted to [release Fullington], he wouldn't do it," said defense attorney John Lewis. "His hands are tied by the law."

Fullington, 45, was celebrating the 75th birthday of former professional wrestler Captain Lou Albano when he was arrested Sunday. Police said he threw drinking glasses at the staff of La Lanterna, a Yonkers restaurant, after he got into a run-in with owner Ralph Tarone.

Tarone allegedly hit Fullington on the head with a bottle. Tarone now has an order of protection to prevent Fullington from returning to the establishment.

The Sandman's attorney calls the order of protection routine. "Where there's any suggestion even of … possible violence or a clash between two people, … to keep everybody away from each other they'll issue these orders of protection," Lewis said.

There are also allegations that the restaurant was asked to stop serving the Sandman alcohol when the celebration began to get out of control.
