And something about Konnan……

Hi Georgie -

Got home to Michigan from Legends of the Ring very late Saturday night (after an 11 hour drive!)... I had a great time.  Having been to several of these conventions over the past 4-5 years, LOTR is always the best run event, with this one being the most organized one I've been to so far.

Superticket guest lines went much smoother than any other event I've been to to date.  And the Superticket guests this time were as friendly as any I can recall.  My favorites this time were Hillbilly Jim, Ronnie Garvin, Ox Baker and Lex Luger, who, while frail, still looked better than I expected and was probably the friendliest and most grateful of the fans than any guest there.

I thought it was great that Kurt Angle was able to keep his commitment despite having to leave earlier than planned for his movie shoot... he was nice enough but didn't say much... I heard people from LOTR say he was overly tired from his filming schedule.

I was very disappointed that Konnan and Nord cancelled at the last minute, but it was no fault of the LOTR team, and hope to meet Nord at a future event, as I missed him the last time he was in a couple of years ago.  I was told not to hold my breath that Konnan would ever be booked again after his second cancellation in as many shows.

Sting looked to have a strong crowd and my friends who bought the Sting combo ticket were very pleased getting a cool in-costume photo op with him as well as a great signature.

Vendor guests that I was most excited to see were Debra (super friendly and looked amazing!), X-Pac, Val Venis and Lita.  My only knock on the vendors was a trend of rising costs for signatures / photos from their guests... $20 per signature has become somewhat of the norm for any of the better known talent, so I passed on guests like Sgt Slaughter and Ted DiBiase, both of whom have been around many times for less; $15 for what I considered to be lesser talent like Nidia or BB.  Ray Rougeau was a true bargain at $10 for a signature and photo op... and one of the nicest guests of the day.

Thanks again to you, WrestlingFigs.com and the LOTR promoters (Terrance and James) for offering up the Superticket contest that I was so appreciative to win.

Jeff

Jeff, I'm so glad that you had a good time, and enjoyed your winning Superticket.  I spoke to James last night, and felt VERY BAD when he told me that the person who won the Sting ticket never showed up.  I had over 400 emails for Sting and Superticket giveaway.  The person who won the Sting ticket should have emailed me to let me know, they wouldn't be able to attend and give another person a chance to win.

Also I need to say that I am TOTALLY appauld at Konnan for no showing for the second time, at a great expense to James & Terrance.  They even changed plane tickets at their expense to accomodate his schedule.  I feel very sad about this, as it was me who recommended using Konnan for the first convention.  There is no excuse for this happening TWICE.  And I pray that Konnan returns the money that is owed to these promoters.  Do the right thing.
