……
A NATIONAL vs NATIONAL FREE SHOW vs FREE SHOW BATTLE IN NJ THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
Just got wind over the internet here pages that there are free wrestling shows running in New Jersey on Saturday night, September 26th
The first one will be run by everyone’s favorite whipping boy National Wrestling Superstars. I say whipping boy because if one reads the sheets, you can always sense the back-handed compliments at times at a promotion that runs up to 60 events a year with top name talent, but gets a knock for character driven carnival like shows (and Saturday’s events will prove my point), but keeps on churning them out win lose or draw. They are like the assembly line of major league professional wrestling promotions and the parts are interchangeable, henceforth the third show of the free wrestling weekend, Friday 7:45pm/Saturday 4pm and the one going neck and neck at 7:45pm at the Edison Fall Festival along Amboy Avenue in Edison, NJ (the setting for the two aforementioned events) featuring that diverse cast of loonies like the Zombie, Neko the Monkey Man, Indian Draven and all headed up by George The Animal Steele on a mini show to boot.
Then you have the New Jersey entry to the once powerful nameplate known as the NWA, staging an event at the well to do area of Wayne, NJ at the beautiful Wayne PAL Complex featuring some of the top names on the circuit like Crowbar, Danny Demanto, Dan Maff, Rob Eckos, Judas Young, The Powers of Pain, Varsity Club and more in a show to immortalize the late NWA promoter Dennis Corluzzo. Well it seems the NWA name, like the economy have fallen on hard times, much like the shows in all good intent to honor the deceased and have stopped selling tickets to this so-called huge event and are giving them away as there was zero/little advance ticket sales. HOW CAN THAT BE??? Well it does not matter who is at fault for their sad state of affairs. The only winners are the NJ/NY metro area wrestling fans that get a good amount of free wrestling action this Saturday night. SPAN>
SO take your pick…will the freebies in Wayne with a solid line up and a full wrestling card outdraw the mini event in Edison with the Monkeys, Zombies and Bozo’s of pro wrestling? I think we all know the answer to this one.
Hopefully the NWS as in past practices post their photos on line. Will the NWA do the same?
