No one thought it could be done, but after promising to be a “back-to-back Rookie of the Year,” Brian Pillman Jr. has inexplicably done just that! The 2018 MLW Rookie of the Year was voted the 2019 Rookie of the Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Leave it to the Rogue Prince to break all the rules…

•The surviving members of the Hart Foundation have made it known there is unfinished business with CONTRA Unit. Now they must contend with a 6’6″ catch wrestler on the prowl for the belt. Following winning the 2019 Opera Cup, Davey Boy Smith Jr. has put himself in motion for a title shot against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu. A 2020 title fight seems all but a given. More details surely to follow.

•Myron Reed, Kotto Brazil and Jordan Oliver have been fined $5,000 for the assault on Brian Pillman Jr. that nearly derailed the Opera Cup for Pillman. Of course, that was the plan by the Opera Cup alternates. Fortunately, Pillman managed, albeit injured, to continue on in the “classic.”

•League officials are departing for key meetings in Japan.

•The athletic commission is investigating the foreign weapon used by Tom Lawlor during an attack on Ross

and Marshall Von Erich moments after their match. If Lawlor did indeed use nunchucks, an illegal weapon in the State of New York, he could risk being suspended.

•The hottest free agent in the sport will rumble with Tom Lawlor February 1 as Killer Kross looks for a fight in Philadelphia. A dominant force in AAA, this is a dream match in the making.

•Douglas James has been training for the past several weeks with Timothy Thatcher in California. The kickboxer/MMA fighter turned pro wrestling has been picking up pointers on catch wrestling from a master in Thatcher.

•The league is in talks for the World Tag Team Champions Ross & Marshall Von Erich to defend their titles overseas.

•Ikuro Kwon remains in Japan, according to reports. Kwon was dispatched by Josef Samael to return to Japan and report to Akihisa Mera. Kwon once served as an underboss to Mera, a vicious and dangerous shadowy figure. While in Japan, CONTRA’s mysterious martial artist’s missions have included attacking the Stronghearts in their homeland as well as whispers of quests on the behalf of Kwon’s master, Akihisa Mera.

•The Dynasty toasted the acquisition of its newest member, Gino “The Untouchable” Medina at the exclusive 21 Club in midtown Manhattan. The elitists were seen with a flock of women partying until the wee hours of Sunday morning before departing in four Bugattis… each with their own gorgeous woman.

MLW invites you to experience The Last Tangle in Texas this week on FUSION.

For over a half of a year “Southern Psycho” Mance Warner and Jimmy Havoc have been engulfed in a bloody war. Now the final chapter of their violent saga will be written as two of the most unpredictable brawlers enter the ring in a no ropes barbed wire match!

The MLW x AAA collaboration continues in a  Triple Threat encounter featuring Drago & Puma King vs. Taurus & Low Rider vs. Injustice. Will AAA triumph or will Injustice swipe a win from one of Mexico’s spectacular team-ups?

CONTRA Unit vows to unleash more of their “borderless violence”… but what does that mean?

“The lone wolf of Brooklyn” Low Ki will be in action against the debuting Chandler Hopkins. The former world heavyweight champion looks to put this highly touted prospect to the test. Will MLW’s resident knockout artist add Hopkins to his list of victims, or will this rough Texan prove he’s one tough country boy?

PLUS…. an all new FIGHTLAND Control Center!

Join Rich Bocchini, AJ Kirsch and Alicia Atout from the sold-out NYTEX Sports Centre in Dallas/Ft. Worth for a night of top ranked action.
