Yesterday we reported that Marc Mero rubbed many people the wrong way by showing up at the funeral for Nancy & Daniel Benoit with a CNN staffer. The family had made a decision not to allow media into the church and guests were stopped and questioned as they entered the building to determine if they were invited guests or legitimate friends of the family. Members of the media were told they could not enter the church and had to wait outside.

Mero brought the CNN staffer into the building with him and several people were upset that he had ignored the clear wishes of the family by bringing a member of the media into the church.

Now comes word this morning that Mero is dating the CNN staffer. Mark Johnson at PWInsider.com says his sources tell him that the woman in question is Mero's fiance. We haven't confirmed that, but it would certainly explain Mero's almost nightly appearances on the Nancy Grace show. You would think if Grace had any journalistic ethics, she would tell her viewers that the man she fawns over as "wrestling great Marc Mero" is dating someone on the CNN staff.

I just received a call from MY FRIEND Marc Mero, who is so upset at the very bad journalism that is currently going on.  Many wrestling sites are going after Marc for speaking out against drugs in the business.  The above was posted on 1Wrestling.com, by my old boss, Bob Ryder. 

First of all, it's Mike Johnson of PWI not Mark Johnson.  Secondly, Mike had that incorrect posting up for about one hour, then changed it as he learned that the woman from CNN in question was not Marc's fiance.

It was pouring rain, and Marc and his fiance, Darlene Spezzi took the CNN staffer in Marc's car (who he just met for the very first time at the Church) a short ride because of the rain.  MARC MERO DID NOT BRING THE CNN STAFFER TO THE SERVICE.

His fiance Darlene is the owner of a Mystic Granite and Marble Company.  Marc has been with Darlene for two years now.

He told me that Nancy Grace is fighting the fight, because of the victims.
