Wrestler Matt Hardy Faces Charges After Crash

Professional wrestler Matt Hardy is facing a charge of driving while impaired after his car hit a tree this weekend in Moore County, according to the State Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at 12:46 p.m. about a half-mile south of Vass, said State Trooper BJ Smith.

Hardy, 36, of Cameron, was traveling south in his 2009 Chevy Corvette when it ran off the road and struck a culvert pipe and a tree, Smith said. Hardy was not hurt. He was also charged with exceeding a safe speed.
