Former WWE & WCW Wrestler, Marc Mero, Joins NCADFA's Choose Not to Use(R) Campaign

New Milford, NJ - July 14, 2007: The NCADFA is proud to announce that former WWE & WCW Pro Wrestler, Marc Mero, has joined our team in the fight against the use and abuse for performance enhancing drugs by teenage athletes. Marc Mero wrestled professionally as Johnny "B" Badd for 6 years with WCW then was Wildman/Marvelous Marc Mero at WWF / WWE for over three years, he finished his career with TNA.

"We are so glad to have Marc as the newest member of our team, said NCADFA founder & president, Dr. Vic Naumov, DC, he is the perfect "real-life" testimonial we were looking for to complete our Choose NOT to Use(R) High School Program. I understand that the actions of professional athletes has been shown to have a direct trickle down effect to our nation's youth. According to the NIDA, over one million children & teens between 6th and 12th grades have admitted to using anabolic steroids with the intent to improve their athletic performance, physical appearance and self image. Marc's energy and passion for "telling it like it is" is electrifying and his ability to connect the Choose NOT to Use(R) message to teenage audiences is nothing less than extraordinary," said Dr. Naumov.

With the recent double murder suicide of WWE wrestler Chris Benoit Marc decided to speak out about what we experienced and saw in the world of professional wrestling. "A sport that was dominated by steroids, prescription medication, alcohol and illegal drugs. I am asking for legislation and regulation before another wrestler or innocent person dies," said Mero, now a spokes person for the NCADFA's Choose NOT to Use(R) Campaign.

"I have wrestled 25 wrestlers that died much to young. I cannot change what happened but what I intend to do is speak up and tell my story to hopefully impact the future. I have been on numerous national talk show/news programs telling my story to hopefully make a difference. I wanted to work with a national non-profit organization that has the same goals as I do, but more important, had the same passion," Mero explained.

As I speak at high schools and middle schools across the country, I couldn't ask for a better program to work with. It's all about choice! Let's use education and awareness to encourage young athletes to "Choose Not to Use(R)" not only performance enhancing drugs, but ALL drugs."

"Together we can make a difference and even save a life."
