Wrestler Gets Key to the City

Geen Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt handed over the key to the city Monday -- or maybe it was wrestled away.
Two Rivers native and WWE wrestler Ken Kennedy stopped in City Hall to meet the mayor. Mayor Schmitt presented Kennedy with the key to the city, along with a Green Bay pen, pin, and flag.
In turn, Kennedy gave the mayor a world heavyweight championship belt.
When asked if Mayor Schmitt has a lot of the same qualities as WWE Chair Vince McMahon, Kennedy responded, "What do you think, Mayor Schmitt? Have you ever walked up to anybody and say, 'YOU'RE FIRED!' Ever done that?"
"Not in that tone," the mayor laughed.
"But you would have liked to. Maybe Mayor Schmitt can relate and that's why he watches wrestling," Kennedy said.
Kennedy is in town for WWE's Smackdown event Tuesday night at the Resch Center.
