Thanks to Todd for this link:

After watching the video, a light bulb went off in my head.  Terry in his commercial for Splenda said it all --

Terry said, I have been a TV wrestler for 17 years, when we started counting concussions, I remember I had 16, but no broken noses.

How many concussions have these wrestlers had with all the hardcore and aggressive wrestling going on now??  Have any of them killed their families or themselves, none that I have heard.

Rob Van Dam appeared on Joe McDonnell's show last night talking about the latest findings of Chris's brain.  Also Rob talks about Vince telling him to protect himself from chair shots, and to stop taking them without putting his hands up.  A great interview, including talking about depression on the road, and too much flight time.  Listen Media Player

I cringe every time I think of a certain match, that is so fresh in my mind, it's like it happened yesterday.  It was Royal Rumble 1999  when the Rock hit Mick Foley with a METAL chair eleven times, while Foley had his hands behind his back in handcuffs.

Where was the company protection for Foley that night????

The Rock defeated Mankind in an "I Quit" match to win the WWF Championship (21:46)

Mick Foley wrote in his second book that he was angry at the Rock for going beyond their agreement that the Rock would give Foley 5 chair shots in the "I Quit" Match" and wound up giving him 11.
In addition, Foley wrote that his feelings were hurt when the Rock didn't show up backstage to check up on him after the match. The Rock would later apologize to Foley for this. Rock apologized for the misunderstanding in his paperback book and said he was sure he had checked on him. When Foley talked to a producer he confirmed Rock checked on him so Foley apologized to him.

Having read that, I'm sure Foley had a major concussion that night.  I also know that in his books, he wrote that many times he couldn't find his way home.  I would think that means Mick was having memory loss due to those concussions.
Has Foley killed his wife, or shown aggression to his family, I think not.

The smartest wrestler of all is The Rock, getting the hell out of wrestling to pursue a career in movies.  Which he has been very successful at, getting movie after movie. Even though most of his films were not blockbusters, he keeps getting roles.  Although I feel it was Hollywood, that ruined his marriage to Dany, not wrestling.

I feel that the WWE needs to look at all that has happened in the past few months and reevaluate their company.  It's nice that Vince is a Millionaire but at what cost.
Vince, listen to your wrestlers and ex-wrestlers to what they are saying.  Time on the road is too long, travel is tedious, away from family is lonely.  Depression sets in and then it's time to say good-bye to your company.  If the talent had more time off, I'm sure they would be healthier and happier.

Did you hear Michael Benoit say on Nightline, Chris called him on Father's Day and was sad that he was on the road, away from his family.

Wrestlers need to be treated with respect, like time off for Thanksgiving, Fathers Day, Mother's Day, etc.

I realize I am only a fan and not a wrestler, but the above are my observations.  I believe with a lesser work schedule in the WWE, the wrestlers would be much better off.

I do not believe that the concussions are what caused Chris Benoit to go crazy, but that is just my opinion..

I would like to hear from you, what are your thoughts on this matter.
