Leva Bates Giving Women of Wrestling a Voice in New Series

The most noted shoot-style interviews of the past two decades have mostly shown the wrestling world painted through the eyes of the grizzled veterans or recently released, each with axes to grind and tales of road-debauchery. The men talk of "rats," backstage brawls, professional politics, and the glory of days past where every venue was a sellout, and each entrance ramp was a war zone, both directions.

Well today that story gets a new spin courtesy of shoot programming producers Kayfabe Commentaries, with the series premiere of Kayfabe Commentaries' Bombshells hosted by Leva "Blue Pants" Bates. Leva, of TNA and Geek Soapbox fame, sits with the female stars of wrestling to get their points of view on all things shooty, accompanied with complete matches on each show. The premiere episode, on sale today at www.KayfabeCommentaries.com, features Mia Yim (TNA's Jade) and also Team 3D Academy trainee and up and comer Kennadi Brink. Leva was excited about her role as host from the get-go, and her personality shines as host, often getting lost in geek-speak tangents to the hilarious confusion of her guests.

"I'm happy to be working with Kayfabe Commentaries," Leva began. "They break boundaries. This is so much more than another stale interview show or podcast. Everyone from the interviewer down to the guests have a distinct voice and true personality that shines through. Me and the KC team work hard to make sure that it's all fun, fresh, and real," she said.

The series holds true to the tenets of the traditional shoot-style interview...trials, tribulations, triumphs, boyfriends and bad dates are all discussed. However the hard road to the top is of particular interest according to Kayfabe Commentaries president and host of many other KC series, Sean Oliver.

"Though the topics are exactly the same as when I'm hosting and talking with the boys," Oliver began, "these tales are told under the awning of a business that is 10 times harder in which to make a splash as a female. The longevity and money don't compare to the men, even for those that do get a break. With that in mind, the tales of these women with a dream are even more inspiring. But the show doesn't have a maudlin tone, it's lots of fun. It's actually impossible to spend time with Leva and not have fun," he says.

Other guests planned for the first season of Kayfabe Commentaries Bombshells are Santana Garrett, Veda Scott, Kimber Lee, and Solo Darling. Today's series premiere with Mia Yim and Kennadi Brink is available on DVD and instant OnDemand at www.KayfabeCommentaries.com
