CLEARWATER - Nick Hogan will not fight the criminal charges he faces in a crash that critically injured a friend. FOX 13 has learned he will either plead guilty or no contest in court Friday.

Sources say no deal has been struck with prosecutors. By entering an "open plea," the judge will have complete leeway in his sentencing.

That means Hogan (whose real name is Nick Bollea) could get up to five years in prison.

Hogan -- son of famous wrestler Hulk Hogan -- was behind the wheel of his father's Toyota Supra when he lost control while allegedly racing another car driven by a friend on a Clearwater street last August.

Hogan's passenger John Graziano received a serious head injury and is not expected to fully recover.

Graziano's family will be in court to ask for jail time, and prosecutors plan to present evidence of Hogan's multiple traffic tickets for speeding before the crash.

Hogan's family will also be in court to ask for leniency.

The judge has the ability to sentence Hogan on the spot or reserve sentencing for a later date.
