After weeks and weeks of brilliant performances, stunning upsets, and incredible action, we have reached the grand finale. This Saturday night on AXS TV, we proudly present the conclusion of the G1 Climax 29. The main event of the evening will pit A Block winner Kota Ibushi against B Block winner “Switchblade” Jay White. The winner will not only have the honor of being this year’s G1 winner, but he will also challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 14 in January at the Tokyo Dome.

Looking at the tournament finals, it is plain to see that the future is now. Both hungry young athletes have already made an impact and look to continue to do so. Jay White is already a former world champion and the leader of the world-renowned Bullet Club. As we mentioned last week in the B Block Final preview, everything that the Switchblade has said he was going to do, he has done. He has promised us that he is going to win the whole thing and go on to reclaim the title he feels is rightfully his. Kota Ibushi has a more honorable trait to him. For him, it is all about respect, lifting New Japan to higher heights, and to pay homage to those who have helped paved the way. When you watch Ibushi’s matches, you can sense the fighting spirit being unleashed onto his opponents and he just seems to get more vicious with each match.
