NOAH GRAND SLAM CHAMPION RETURNS TO ROH

- Press Release
…..
Ring of Honor has already announced the arrival of two of Japan’s best for the weekend of December 26th & 27th with current GHC Heavyweight Champion Kensuke Sasaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima. Now you can add one more name to that list, current AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Naomichi Marufuji!
Since his ROH debut at “Final Battle 2005” opposite Bryan Danielson, Marufuji has engaged in some classic battles inside the ROH ring. From his historic GHC title match with Nigel McGuinness at “Glory by Honor V, N.2” to his classic battle with Rocky Romero at “Respect is Earned” to his most recent encounter with Go Shiozaki at “Death Before Dishonor VI”, Marufuji has thrilled audiences in the United States for nearly three years. Now he will celebrate his ROH anniversary inside the ring against opponents to be determined.
One lingering question from Marufuji’s last visit is his impending World Title shot. At “Death Before Dishonor VI”, Marufuji stepped up as a challenger to Nigel following his defeat of Tyler Black. Shortly thereafter, Marufuji was guaranteed a title shot by ROH management somewhere down the line. Could “Final Battle” weekend be the time when this opportunity comes to fruition?
The best way to know is by being there in attendance. ROH always delivers, especially when it comes to our NYC and Philadelphia fans, so make sure you are there to watch the returns of Sasaki, Nakajima, and Marufuji to the ROH ring!
