……

It's a day to remember Chris "No Gimmicks" Candido.  (3/21/72 - April 28, 2005)  He was also Skip of Body Donna's.  Chris is still missed terribly.

It appears that WrestleMania 24 will be in the Citrus Bowl on March 30th in Orlando next year.

On ESPN TV and Raido Tuesday, the WWE steroid story made news, and most of it wasn't good.  That morning, Colin Cowherd was already into the story, criticizing Eddie Guerrero, and the "wrestling lifestyle" which led to the death of many pro wrestlers.  (note I did not listen to the entire conversation, as I detest Colin Cowherd.)

That afternoon during the Big Show hour of the Dan Patrick show, Patrick and Keith Olberman discussed it also.  Olberman said there was no disincentive for wrestlers to not take hgh and steroids.  Patrick discussed the number of wrestling deaths, including Brian Pillman and Rick Rude.  They even mentioned the death of Ernie Ladd, and seemed to be wondering if he did 'roids or hgh.  They also discussed David Eckstein's involvement in pro wrestling, wondering if it was good for baseball.  Then they mentioned Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone's involvement with WCW, and made the joke that Rodman being involved could've hurt wrestling's image.

Jim Rome also chimed in on Rome is Burning.  He pretty much said it wasn't a surprise, and was his usual sarcastic self.  While he talked about it, he said it was WWE wrestlers, but one of the clips he showed was of Scott Steiner.

Mike Kraz, Mike Emrich, Mike Evans, Nick Bismack, Wayne Andrews, Major Overall, and Paul Bowers competed in the tournament. Bismack and Bowers won their divisions and Wayne Andrews took fourth place, we had three placers and our team had a blast. We look forward to the next competition, as it was a fun filled weekend at the tournament and expo.

3/11        Sybil Star of Team Severn headed to Tokyo Japan to compete for the #1 contender spot for the Smack Girls 120 pound World Title. Sybil had a great fight and we look forward to getting her back into competition as she is one of the more exciting fighters at 120 pounds to watch and will go toe to toe with anyone.

I attended the Magnum TA tribute show this past weekend in Chesapeake VA and it was definitely worth the drive down from NY despite the bad weather. It was a six and a half hour drive and I took my daughter Taylor with me and we both had a great time. This event was very well organized and I must take a moment to thank Keith Crocket and his staff for treating us so well. We got to the building at around five fifteen and picked up our VIP passes.  VIP pass holders were to get in at five thirty half an hour ahead of the general public which is always nice and worth the extra money. At about five forty Keith gathered up the VIP people and we headed in for the autograph session. It was great as only 40 VIP tickets were made available so we would be able to spend some time with the wrestlers. A line was formed and Keith began giving out photos to everyone. Each VIP received an 8 X 10 of each wrestler to get signed, you also were given a Kamala figure for autographing, and you would able to take a Polaroid or a photo with your camera with each wrestler. Not only that but you also were allowed to get 3 of your own items signed by each wrestler and, you had a first row ringside seat for the matches. At the autograph tables were seated in this order first Barbarian, Kamala, Ron Garvin, Baby Doll, Bob Caudle, Bill Apter, Magnum TA. All were very nice and signed all items that were put in front of them. I got a few belts, books, and photos signed.  I even was able to chat a bit with all of them which was very nice. You were not rushed at all. After getting our autographs and going through the line another line was formed for Polaroid. Each wrestler got up from their table and posed with each fan taking a photo which was great. Again, no rushing and very well organized. After that was done Keith asked all of us if we got everything signed we needed before he opened the door to the general public which I thought was a great gesture on his part. The matches begun at a little past eight. Mostly local talent but Kamala and Barbarian did wrestle along with Ron Garvin being a special ref for a bout. Baby Doll did some commentating alongside Bill Apter as did Magnum TA. At intermission all the wrestlers gathered in the ring as Magnum was presented with a plaque by Bob Caudle and a montage of highlites played from some of Magnum past matches on a big screen for all to see. It was very moving and touching to see. More matches continued after intermission and when they ended a Magnum Inaugural crown winner was crowned. After the matches were over Magnum went to a back table and started signing autographs again for another half hour. That was very nice on his part after a long night. I have been to a lot of wrestling events in the past and I must say this one ranked as one of my favorites. I am so happy that I got to be a part of it.
