TWA CHAMPION STEVE CORINO INVOKES HIS MASKED ALTER-EGO "MR. WRESTLING III"

Current Tri-State Wrestling Alliance (TWA) Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino has been known by several different names during his 16 year professional wrestling career.  Monster C, King of Old School, and the Extreme Horseman are just a few.  But none bear more significance to Corino than that of Mr. Wrestling III.  While working Hawaii Championship Wrestling (HCW) in 2007, Corino befriended NWA Georgia wrestling legend Mr. Wrestling II (Johnny Walker).  Walker took a liking to Corino and endorsed him as the official bearer of the Mr. Wrestling III persona, complete with the trademark black and white Mr. Wrestling mask.  In fact, Walker and Corino teamed together as Mr. Wrestling II & III and shared a title reign as HCW Tag Team Champions for several months in late 2007-early 2008.

After Corino left the Hawaii territory he continued to carry the Mr. Wrestling III name and wear the mask, but eventually he discontinued wearing the mask during his matches.

After "Hitman" Tony Stetson visited the last World-1 show and had a confrontation with Corino and his manager "The Certified Genius" Rob Dimension, the duo has been promising to get back at the TWA Title Challenger.

Corino and Dimension recently sent this message into the TWA office. Corino and Dimension are master manipulators and are always up for minds games, and this seems to be the latest in a long litany of games that the pair has employed, as Corino is now invoking his masked Mr. Wrestling III persona for this Sunday’s April 11th title defense against Tony Stetson.  Tony is a veteran and will not be thrown off by such games, but one disadvantage to wrestling a masked man is you cannot read their emotions from their facial expressions.  Is this a disadvantage that Tony Stetson can overcome and finally win the TWA title after months of frustration?  What else do Corino and Dimension up their sleeves?  Come to the Flyers Skate Zone this Sunday to find out.

Friday night, April 16 - 1:30 am

Scheduled line-up -

#1 Contender Tournament Quarterfinal - Jason Bane vs. Bobby Beverly
Eight of the top contenders to Johnny Gargano’s PWO Championship have been entered into a single elimination tournament to determine who from the rapidly growing list of challengers is truly deserving to fight for PWO’s top prize. This week, PWO’s Most Dominant Athlete battles allegedly PWO’s Sexiest. Bobby Beverly took Gargano to his limit earlier this year, and claims he would have had the title won if not for the involvement of Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe. Meanwhile, Jason Bane has conquered everyone in his path, and despite a hefty bounty against him put forth by Aaron Maguire, Bane still has his sights set on the PWO Title. Can the Sex Appeal rep and co-holder of the PWO Tag Team Titles conquer the unconquerable or will Jason Bane advance to the semi-final round?

Super Hentai vs. Eric Ryan w/Corey Winters & Ernie Ballz
Last week, we saw the return of the man with controlled aggression and howling fury, the man trained in Hayabusa, Japan - Super Hentai - as he defeated Corey Winters in singles competition. However, that was not the only return we saw, as “The Rock Show” Ernie Ballz, former PWO Tag Team Champion as part of The Clash, returned in the corner of Winters. Ballz’ newfound role as the alleged missing piece to the Ryan-Winters tag team started out rocky, with Hentai scoring a decisive victory. This week, it’s Eric Ryan’s opportunity. Can Ernie Ballz guide Eric Ryan to greatness, just as he claims he did to ex-partner Brian Bender? Or can Super Hentai make it 2-0 in his PWO return?

Brian Bender vs. Flip Kendrick
Also a week ago, Brian Bender didn’t see much more success than his ex-partner, as Bender was defeated by the debuting Louis Lyndon, using a combination of aerial offense and martial arts straight out of the East Lansing Dojo. This week, Bender challengers Lyndon’s tag team partner Flip Kendrick. Together, Louis & Flip form the tag team of Aeroform, and seem poised to make a lasting impact on PWO. Can Flip Kendrick impress in much the same was as his partner? Or can Brian Bender recover from his post-Clash slump?

Plus - Comments from M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross & Marion Fontaine regarding the #1 Contender’s Tournament, Omega Aaron Draven, Michael Façade, Krimson, The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew, Ben Fruith, Matthew Justice, and more!
