Wrestling fan Jason Strecker has written a fiction novel called “Only The Beginning” about a girl's life during high school. The book has a journal-like feel with stories of how the main character Catherina interjects herself into the lives of her troubled friends or teachers. Friends and teachers do the same for Catherina as she faces trouble with bullying, lack of family relationship and death of loved ones. Though the book itself features no wrestling stories it does include a forward by wrestling legends Handsome Jimmy the Boogie Woogie Man and Nikolai Volkoff. Both men are personal friends with the author and a few times a year he accompanies them to various conventions and match events. The forwards include both wrestlers responses to the novel, to their friend Jason, and how each man relates to the novels message of helping those in need. The novel can be purchased online through Politics & Prose, a local book store in Washington, DC that hosts numerous celebrity author book signings. Books are print on demand and therefore are not currently signed by author or wrestlers.
