NWA East is looking for professional wrestlers ready to step into an NWA ring! If you've completed your pro wrestling training, and are looking for the opportunity of a lifetime, check out the NWA East tryouts before Burgh Brawl 13!

April 11th is the date for Burgh Brawl this year, and NWA East officials will be holding tryouts at the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renziehausen Park in McKeesport, PA the afternoon before the Burgh Brawl live event that night. For more information on the tryouts, please e-mail
[email protected]!

In previous years, the NWA East tryouts have discovered talent like
Spyral, who went on to become "BKNY" Brandon Kaplan in Ohio Valley Wrestling & CZW, Sabotage, who won the NWA East Brass Knuckles Championship, and Tyrone Evans, who is now Tyson Tarver in WWE's developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling! Will you be the next star discovered by NWA East? A tryout will almost guarantee you a spot in Burgh Brawl 13, an NWA East tradition and upcoming DVD release!

The NWA East is western-Pennsylvania's longest running wrestling promotion, providing old-school family-friendly pro wrestling entertainment for 14 years and counting. Through a grassroots movement, Pro Wrestling eXpress has grown from humble beginnings to a staple of the area, and one of the top regional affiliates to the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), professional wrestling's oldest, and at one time largest, governing body. With top-notch rising talent as Chris Taylor, Patrick Hayes, Mantis, and NWA North American Tag Team Champions Brandon K & Crusher Hansen, NWA East brings hungry, young, and exciting stars to the time-honored tradition of the NWA. NWA East can be located online at three locations, www.pwx-online.org, www.pwx-online.com, and www.nwaeast.org. Find out why everybody knows: pro wrestling in Pittsburgh means P-W-X!

Shane Douglas returned to wrestling this past Friday night before 300 fans at an NWA show in Roselle, NJ. He pinned Little Guido in what would have been his first match in more than five years. He cut a promo after the match talking about how he regretted disrespecting the NWA title belt at The Night the Line Was Crossed, an infamous ECW show back in 1994.

Sean Morley remembers his friend Drew:

RIP Andrew "TEST" Martin
Andrew was a VERY good long time friend who both Matt Bloom and I share many great memories. Andrew's passing is still so shocking. I am still waiting for Johnny Ace or Christian or Edge or Jericho or somebody to call me back in Japan and tell me it was all a mistake. It does not feel real. Andrew "TEST" Martin along with Matt Bloom and myself became like the three amigos as we traveled the road together and shared many great memories. Last night before our match, as Matt and I absorbed the news and tried to make sense of it all, the silence was broken with Matts words which I could not have said better myself. "You know what Val, all the friends we have lost, their deaths really sucked and saddened. But this one HURTS DEEP!"

Drew(burg), I will always remember the great times we had and the memories you provided. You will always have a special place in my heart and my life. I promise, you will never be forgotten.

REST IN PEACE    Sean Morley (Formerly Val Venus)

J.J. DILLON COMES OUT OF RETIREMENT FOR DEAF WRESTLEFEST 2009
J.J. Dillon will come out of retirement to don the tights to headline the blockbuster extraganza "Deaf Wrestlefest 2009" on Sunday, May 3rd, at 6 p.m., sponsored by the WPSD Parent-Staff Organization, at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 300 East Swissvale Avenue, in Pittsburgh (Edgewood). Many major current and past superstars of wrestling will appear and will be announced here soon.
This note was received from Mr. Dillon:
"My first sanctioned single match was with Killer Kowalski at the Channel 11 Studio in Pittsburgh (TV match) on December 7, 1968. I returned to the area working most of 1970 in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and West Virginia.
My last match was in a Battle Royal in Kansas City on January 21, 1989. I have managed Tully Blanchard a few times in recent years, and I believe there was one time five or six years ago that I was in a six-man tag match with Tully and Terry Funk in Tennessee. However, I consider my official retirement in Kansas City in 1989. So, twenty years later I am coming out of retirement for your show.
I look forward to your show in May."
Due to seating capacity in the WPSD , limited tickets will be available for this historical night.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Limited first row ringside seats are available for $25.  For tickets, contact:
