Sami Callihan sent in a passionate promo late last night making a request for the EVOLVE main event to be changed on December 8th. He does have a case considering he went 2-1 with impressive victories over Samuray Del Sol and El Generico (winning 2 falls in just 20 minutes) at the last DGUSA tripleshot. We want your opinion. A decision will be announced in the Black Friday edition of the WWNLive Alerts. Please watch the promo here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQz4-w48hDU&feature=youtu.be

WrestleOhio.com, the #1 independent wrestling news site in the state of Ohio, is looking to do something unprecedented in 2013 by crowning the first ever state wide champion. Read on to see how you can help us accomplish this unique goal, and change the face of Ohio Independent Wrestling forever. Or, click here if you want to go directly to the fund-raising campaign on IndieGoGo.com.
WrestleOhio.com was founded in late 2007 as a one stop site for fans of independent pro wrestling in State of Ohio to get all the news, results, upcoming show dates and more from their favorite wrestling promotions throughout the state. In the beginning, the site covered 10 wrestling promotions that we had personal knowledge of, as well as covering some of the bigger promotions that came through Ohio on occasion. Over the past 5 years the site has grown to include over 40 promotions that run solely in the State of Ohio, and also currently includes some very popular features such as advice columns written by industry insiders looking to help young wrestlers make it in the business, as well as our wildly popular interview section, which currently houses over 70 interviews conducted by Huskie Howard with some of the top Ohio wrestling personalities from the past, present, and future. The site currently boasts a viewership of over 5000 unique visitors, and over 38,000 page-views per month, with that number growing every day.

The goal of Wrestle Ohio has not changed since we launched in 2007, and that goal is to help the independent wrestling promotions and wrestlers in Ohio not only to succeed, but also to thrive by getting more exposure for their shows, as well as helping the fans find the best wrestling entertainment in the state. With that idea in mind, and after talking with several promoters, wrestlers, magazine reporters, and fans about what they thought Wrestle Ohio could do to help them promote their product, we came up with an idea that we feel will help bring the kind of positive exposure to the Ohio wrestling scene that it deserves.

The Wrestle Ohio Championship will be unlike any other wrestling title in the state, or in the world for that matter, as it will not be tied to any one specific wrestling promotion. It will be, in the purest sense of the word, an independent wrestling championship.
The way that this will work is simple. The first Wrestle Ohio Champion will be decided in a series of tournaments that will take place in various promotions all across the State of Ohio. In the preliminary round, each promotion that wants to participate will hold their own tournaments to choose their representatives. Those representatives will then be randomly paired up to compete against each other in the semi-finals, with the two winners of that round facing off against each other in the finals of the tournament at an Ohio Independent Wrestling Showcase event to be held in July 2013.

The winner of that round will be crowned the first ever Wrestle Ohio Champion. From there, he (or she) will be required to defend the championship at least once every 30 days in a different promotion somewhere in the State of Ohio. What that means is, a wrestler that may previously have only been seen in the Cincinnati area will now have the opportunity to travel to Cleveland, Toledo, Lima, Portsmouth or anywhere else to compete against the best and brightest wrestlers in the state.

Although the Wrestle Ohio Champion will only be required to defend the title once a month, the majority of these hard-working wrestlers in Ohio work shows on a weekly basis, sometimes more than once a week, and they will be permitted to put the title on the line in each and every match that they wrestle in. Fans throughout the state will be able to keep up with these title defenses via our website, WrestleOhio.com, as we will be posting video updates of each and every match that the Wrestle Ohio Championship is defended in, as well as backstage interviews with the participants of those matches.

If you're a wrestling fan, and if you've read this far we'll assume you are, you know that the one thing that every champion needs is a championship belt. We want the Wrestle Ohio Championship belt to be as unique as the concept itself, and to do so, we need to have the belt custom made by a reliable and skilled belt maker.

After literally months of researching what seems like every belt maker and designer out there, we have decided that Top Rope Belts is best suited and equipped to handle this unique project. Top Rope Belts has designed custom belts for WWE and TNA Impact, as well as several MMA promotions and other sports teams such as The Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers. They are known worldwide for their high quality craftsmanship, as well as their unique designs that seamlessly mix old-school and modern styles.

To see some examples of their truly awe-inspiring championship belts, check out TRB's official website at www.topropebelts.com.
The cost of having the belt created is going to be between $2000.00 - $2500.00, depending on the options that we choose. Right now, we are looking at having made a 6-plate belt (1 main plate, 4 side plates, and a logo plate), dual plated in Gold and Nickel, with Austrian Crystals inset into the plates. This belt will be a one of a kind creation that we feel will positively reflect the hard work and dedication of the wrestlers that will be competing for it.

To help offset the cost of having the Wrestle Ohio Championship belt created, Wrestle Ohio has partnered with IndieGoGo.com, one of the leading crowdfunding sites in the world, to create a unique campaign to help us raise the funds that we need. You can check out this unique campaign, as well as all of the perks that anyone contributing to this campaign will receive, by clicking here.

100% of the contributions that we receive through this campaign will go to the design and creation of the Wrestle Ohio Championship belt. If we receive more contributions than we are asking for, or if the championship belt ends up costing less than estimated, the remainder of the contributions will go towards advertising expenses to get the word out about this project, and about independent wrestling in the State of Ohio.

On the other hand, if we do not receive the full $2500 in contributions that we are asking for, we will work with Top Rope Belts to have a less expensive, yet equally impressive Wrestle Ohio Championship belt created. This way, you can rest assured that every cent that is contributed will go towards funding this unique project.

We greatly appreciate any and all help that you can give us in spreading the word about this unique project. Even if you can't contribute any money at this time, you can still help make an impact by sharing this campaign with all of your friends, family, co-workers, and other wrestling fans on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or any other social networking site of your choice.

Or, if you would like to get up close and personal with minds behind this unique project, requests for interviews and all other media requests may be submitted to [email protected]. We are truly excited about this project, and what it could mean for the Ohio independent wrestling scene, and would love the opportunity to tell the world about it in more detail.

We would like to thank each and every person that contributes to this campaign in any way...whether it be by contributing money or just helping spread the word about what we are doing. The Wrestle Ohio Championship has been a dream of ours for a very long time, and any help that gets us closer to achieving that dream means more to us than you could ever know!
