A Short Piece on Luna Vachon from NWS Management
Many have already written about the passing of one of pro wrestling's more entertaining and bizarre characters in Luna Vachon. National Wrestling Superstars would like to add their two cents' worth at this point, and we need not dwell on the apparent negatives that caused her young demise, but rather on the positives, which should be a lesson to all in the industry, especially to the distaff side who, at times, have become somewhat reluctant to do whatever it takes to put a particular show or promotion over.
Both Gino Moore (a.k.a Commissioner Gino), who knew Luna way longer than myself (Johnny Falco) and affectionately called her "Angel" as only her close friends did, will certainly miss her presence. I had a different rapport with Luna as a booker, and I can tell you for a fact that at the shows, Luna was always wiling and able to do whatever it took that particular night to enhance the show's creativity, something that I have noticed of late that some of the female members of this sport seem to not want to partake in. I can tell you that Luna always worked hard as opposed to some of so-called latter-day female performers not even breaking a sweat at times, yet were always there at the end of the night with their hand out at the pay window. This is not to condemn any of the lovely females, and there is only a small faction that we are bringing this matter to light to, just to open their eyes to what it takes to break out of the local independent show scene and hopefully to the big time at some point.
But back to Luna... there are countless outrageous stories I'm sure, but I remember two that particularly stand out. One was five years ago when the NWS had a three-day weekend full of double shots, culminating with a booking at a Halloween haunted hayride in central Jersey on a Sunday night. How appropriate Luna was there, especially when the moon was full, as Luna just went hog-wild, attacking anything and anyone in sight, but all in good fun, as the setting was so ridiculous, being part barn and part outdoor theater, with haystacks, rain, and mud everywhere, everyone broke character in front of a somewhat miniscule turnout, as the bizarreness of it all was too much to handle.
The second Luna story I recall was not from a wrestling show per se, but a three-way phone conversation between Luna, myself, and the so-called promoter of a now defunct promotion once known as SSCW, the much maligned Carmine Sabia. It seems Carmine had Luna booked along with NWS on a shared weekend, and, what has become the unfortunate usual practice of Mr. Sabia, something of course happened and went awry with Carmine's part of the booking. Well I can tell you that Luna laced into both of us verbally with the most salty language that ever came out of a female, language that would have made sailors, dockworkers, and construction workers cringe. At the end of the tirade, which lasted some time, both Carmine and I asked Luna not to hold back and let us know how she really felt. At that point Luna`s conversation broke down into total laughter on her and our parts.
Well, as far as this promotion is concerned, Luna will be missed, and as her close friends called her "Angel", we know that's who she`s with right now.

(Bristol, PA- September 2, 2010)- ROH officials are happy to announce that Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli have signed on to stay with Ring of Honor. For Chris Hero, it is an extension of his existing contract and for Claudio Castagnoli it is the signing of a new contract. The current ROH World Tag Team Champions have dominated in the tag team division since reforming at “Final Battle 2009”, and have had some of the most captivating bouts of 2010 including battles against The Briscoes at “The Big Bang” and “Death Before Dishonor VIII” as well as exciting singles bouts like Hero vs. Tyler Black at “Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies 2” and Castagnoli vs. Black at “The Bluegrass Brawl”.
“We are very happy to have Hero & Claudio on board with Ring of Honor for the foreseeable future.” said ROH President Cary Silkin, “These are two of the most talented wrestlers competing today, and it’s quite exciting to see how they will continue to excel not only in our tag team division, but in the singles ranks as well.”
Hero & Claudio will be in action next weekend with an ROH World Tag Team Title defense against Colt Cabana & El Generico in Plymouth, MA on Sept. 10th and a Dream Tag Team match-up against Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas on Sept. 11th at “Glory by Honor IX”.

Freehold and Howell Police departments partner with Fazoo Crew to have Pro Wrestling Extravaganza fundraiser for Child Advocacy and the Fallen Officers Foundation on 9/11
Freehold NJ: On Saturday, September 11th in Freehold, the Freehold and Howell Police departments will partner with Fazoo Crew to participate in a spectacular Professional Wrestling Extravaganza.
This event is a fundraiser for two local charities with the proceeds donated to the Child Advocacy Center in Freehold and the Fallen Officers Foundation.
Former WWF and WCW Superstar Matt Borne will produce the show. Borne is best known as the "Original" Doink the Clown in the WWF, Big Josh in WCW and Borne Again in ECW. Borne is a second generation wrestler, son of the late legendary "Tough" Tony Borne.
The evening's events promise to be action packed, with the format reminiscent of pro wrestling back in the early days. Borne successfully ran events in the Portland area for years and has founded Fazoo Crew to bring great events to the east coast.
The young, energetic Dionette Fernandez will debut for Fazoo Crew against the gritty Kodiak Bear. Fernandez, a recent graduate of the Matt Borne Pro Wrestling Academy will represent his mentor in his inaugural match.
"The Escort" Erik Andretti will battle the extremely fit CK Kross followed by Matt Taven in a match with "Epic" Mike Bennett. Other matches for the evening include a woman's title match, not to be missed.
Rounding out the card is a Tag Team main event with Smith "Big Game" James and Former ECW Star Danny "Do it all" Doring battling Vik Dalishus and Tony Devito. The Howell and Freehold Township Police will participate as Lumberjacks surrounding the ring. Once someone is thrown out of the ring, it is the job of the lumberjacks around the squared circle to throw him back into the ring.
This live Pro Wrestling show will be held at 3-2 Count Athletic Training Facility Freehold on Fairfield Road in Freehold with a 7:30 pm bell time. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Admission is $20 and is for a great cause. Please come out and support the Child Advocacy Center and the Fallen Officers Foundation.
