ROH (Ring Of Honor - www.rohwrestling.com )
January 24th:  Lance Storm has won titles everywhere he has gone from Japan to SMW to ECW to WCW to WWE. He retired from the ring last June with no reason to ever return. Now Storm has the itch and it is all because of one athlete. He has found his love for the sport of pro wrestling again and it is because of ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson.
Storm and Danielson came face-to-face at "Steel Cage Warfare" on December 3rd. Storm told Danielson that if he were ever to come out of retirement it would be to wrestle someone like him. Since that time the itch began to grow in Storm and he felt the need to return to the ring to compete against Danielson.
Storm has signed one of Bryan Danielson's open contracts for a World Title shot. It will be Lance Storm vs. Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Title on April 1st in Chicago (ROHwrestling.com, 215-781-2500, Ticketmaster outlets for tickets and info). Of course, Danielson must still be champion on April 1st. Even if Danielson loses the belt, it will still be Danielson vs. Storm on 4/1 in Chicago.
"After a 10 month absence, I will be returning to active competition April 1st to challenge the current ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson," Storm said. "I now have 10 weeks to get myself in the best shape of my life. I have never been more focused or set in a direction as I am right now. My only hope is that he is still the Champion come April 1st as a World Title run is the only thing that has eluded me in my career."
January 24th: This weekend is the end for the Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe feud in ROH. It all started in ROH in 2002 and now Ohio will witness the finish. You can see a complete history of the feud in a free video now at ROHvideos.com, which is also linked from the main page of ROHwrestling.com. The video details all the incidents and matches over the years. Christopher Daniels has never pinned Samoa Joe in a singles match. Joe has never been able to put away Daniels. Now their skills will be tested against each other in two very different matches. Dayton on Friday will see Joe vs. Daniels in a 30 Minute Ironman Match. Cleveland on Saturday will have Joe vs. Daniels in an Anything Goes Match. Both these contests are sure to test each individual in different ways. No matter what happens or how things are settled, this weekend will be your last chance to see Joe vs Daniels one-on-one in ROH!!!
January 24th: Milano Collection AT will be forced to miss this weekend's shows. Milano told ROH officials that he is still suffering from neck problems. Milano said he has to go back to Japan to get his neck examined, although he should be back in the United States this weekend. We apologize for this cancellation.
January 24th: As an added bonus to the fans attending this weekend's shows in Ohio, all ROH DVDs & videotapes including shows, Straight Shootin' Series and Secrets Of The Ring will be buy 3, get 1 free at the merchandise table. The buy 3, get 1 free sale and 20% off live event ticket sales at ROHwrestling.com has been extended until Wednesday!!!
January 24th: Jimmy Yang will now take on Jay Lethal in a first time ever match on 1/28 in Cleveland. This will be an important match for the Top 5 Rankings as Yang needs to establish himself in ROH and Lethal wants to rebound from his 1/14 loss to Chris Daniels.
January 24th: Another big match has been signed for this Saturday in Cleveland. It will be a Four Corner Survival pitting Matt Sydal vs. Jay Fury vs. Delirious vs. Abyss!!! This one should be very interesting with the fast-paced, high-flying mixed with the power and size of Abyss.
January 24th: Jay Fury will take Milano's place in the Trios Tournament and team with Tony Mamaluke & Sal Rinauro.
January 24th: There are now two new FIP DVDs for sale at ROHwrestling.com. "Violence Is The Answer" is the turning point show in FIP history as FIP moved into the small towns with hot, old school crowds that bring a unique atmosphere to FIP DVDs. See the CM Punk vs. Homicide feud end in an Anything Goes match that includes the birth of the "187 Stick Up Kids" plus: Spanky vs. Roderick Strong, Jimmy Rave vs. Jerrelle Clark, James Gibson vs. Steve Madison and much more!!! "In Full Force" features the FIP debuts of Samoa Joe and Colt Cabana. See Cabana challenge Homicide for the FIP Title plus: Samoa Joe destroys Evan Starsmore before taking on Rainman, CM Punk & Azrieal vs. Roderick Strong & Jerrelle Clark, Steve Madison vs. Jay Fury, Sal Rinauro vs. Eddie Vegas and more!!! See FIP start a new chapter with these shows now at ROHwrestling.com.
January 24th: Jerrelle Clark will return to ROH on 2/11 in Long Island.
January 24th: Jay Fury has earned this weekend's shots in ROH with some impressive showings in FIP. Fury had very competitive singles matches recently against both Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson. Fury and his regular FIP tag partner Jerrelle Clark were also recently in a wild feud against Steve Madison & Erick Stevens. Fury brings an innovative, high-flying, athletic style to ROH this weekend.
January 24th: The sleeper match of this weekend looks to be the big grudge match pitting Ace Steel & Claudio Castagnoli vs. ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness & Chad Collyer on Saturday in Cleveland. There are a lot of issues in this one. If you saw Ace Steel's promo on the "Buffalo Stampede" home release you know that he is crazed with the idea of getting revenge on Collyer. 8/13 in Chicago saw Collyer lay out Steel in one of the bloodiest incidents in ROH history. Castagnoli has been in a heated feud against McGuinness and so far Castagnoli has been unable to get any kind of revenge on the Pure Champion. Steel is also looking to get in line for a Pure Title shot since he defeated Nigel in a tag match on 11/5 in Chicago. Commissioner Jim Cornette has already told the referees that this one will have relaxed rules and to let these four settle their issues.
January 24th: ROH officials are in several intense negotiations now and we hope to have some major announcements this week so keep checking the ROHwrestling.com Newswire everyday.
