Even in the middle of the Easter and Passover weekend, wrestling fans still crave the action in the ring, and the fans on the Jersey Shore certainly knew where to go on Saturday night April 7, as a sellout crowd of around 220 came to the Manahawkin, NJ Elks Lodge to see another exciting show from National Wrestling Superstars.

And there was controversy even before the first match started, as out came the NWS Tag-Team Champions "Mr. Motion" Shane Taylor & Ace Darling, The Psychedelic Studs (although the crowd prefers to call them "Sissies" - look at their outfits and you'll understand why) and their manager, former NWA Canadian Champion "Hockey Goon" Rocco Dorsey. Mr. Motion and Ace were commenting on how they couldn't have a proper weigh-in for their match later that night, because their opponents Big Slam Vader and "Mass Destruction" Dave Duncan not only tipped the scales at over 400 pounds - EACH - they literally BROKE the scales. The champs claimed that since they were not booked for, in their words, a "Sumo Match", the match later on would be a non-title affair. The fans booed their cowardice as they left the ring.

It was finally time for the first match of the evening, and out came former ECW hardcore brawler and Barnegat native "The Equalizer" Paulie B. But when his opponent Johnny Thundar was called out, nobody appeared. Commissioner Gino Moore announced that he had just gotten off the phone with Johnny Thundar and that he could not make it. Equalizer demanded an opponent, and spotted a young rookie wrestler in the audience. Equalizer claimed that this youngster had wanted to someday challenge the Equalizer, and despite Commissioner Moore's claims that the kid was not ready, Equalizer seized him and began beating the life out of him. Suddenly, out came current NWS Hardcore Champion Johnny Candido, making his first NWS appearance since recovering from a shoulder injury. Johnny offered to give Equalizer an opponent who could fight back, and put his Hardcore Title on the line in a First Blood Match. The bell rang and the two tore into each other as they had been doing months ago. They battled inside and outside the ring (outside seeming to be their favorite place), hitting each other with chairs, trays, signs, and basically anything else they could use as a weapon. Equalizer brought in his heavy chain as his ultimate weapon, but in the end it was Johnny who repeatedly hit Equalizer's forehead with it and busted him open, winning the match and retaining the Hardcore Title. But Johnny and Equalizer were far from finished fighting, as they continued to go at each other for nearly ten minutes despite the entire NWS security squad and locker room trying to separate them. Commissioner Moore hit both of them with stiff fines, and announced they would face each other in a Hardcore Tables Match the next time NWS came to Manahawkin.

The second match of the evening pitted Delaware's arrogant J.D. Smooth against NWS's poster boy for piercings Dirty Dan Pettit (nobody's quite sure where he comes from - no town will admit it). The two lightweights flew around the ring, but also did a fair amount of mat brawling, before Smooth caught Dirty Dan with an overhead back suplex and pinned him 1-2-3 for the victory.

The third match of the evening had Japan's Giant Kaibootsie come out, along with his manager Rocco Dorsey. Rocco pleaded with the fans that Kaibootsie had been mistreated as a child by his father, who was named Boo, and therefore the fans should avoid booing him. The resulting even louder boos from fans drove Kaibootsie even more insane. But the boos quickly changed to cheers as Kaibootsie's opponent was announced, the Jersey Shore's strait-jacket-wearing dog-biscuit-eating madman Slayer. The bell rang and this most unusual matchup began. Slayer apparently had a craving for sirloin, as he attempted to take bites out of Kaibootsie's backside, and his unpredictable and high-flying tactics were able to keep Kaibootsie at bay for most of the match. But Kaibootsie's size and Rocco's double-teaming won out in the end, and after Rocco threw some powder into Slayer's eyes, Kaibootsie hit him with a side suplex and pinned him 1-2-3 for the victory.

The fourth match was an NWS Jersey Shore Title rematch from last month in Neptune, NJ. Out first came the champion Nicky Oceans, with Rocco Dorsey in his corner. Then the crowd let out a mighty cheer for his opponent, rising star and Forked River native Rhett Titus. Oceans, to counter all the friends Titus apparently had in the crowd, introduced his friends, Shane Taylor and Ace Darling. Commissioner Gino Moore sent them back to the locker room right away, however, and the match began. Oceans and Titus picked up right where they had left off and tore into each other, Titus' skill matching up against Oceans' experience. In the end, Titus caught Oceans with a Stinger Splash followed by a thunderous lariat clothesline and pinned him 1-2-3 for the victory. Titus' victory celebration was almost immediately interrupted by the re-appearance of Shane Taylor and Ace Darling who attacked Titus. Then while Mr. Motion distracted the referee, Ace slipped a chain into Titus' trunks, and then "revealed" it to the referee, who, not having seen Ace planting the chain, accused Titus of using a foreign object, and reversed the decision and awarded the match to Nicky Oceans by disqualification. Mr. Motion and Ace continued to attack Titus until Big Slam Vader and Dave Duncan came out to chase them away.

After intermission, another local favorite made his NWS debut, The Green Dragon, as he took on NWS' "Indian Warrior" Draven. The two big men brawled, wrestled, and powered their way around the ring until Green Dragon caught Draven in a sleeper hold. Draven's arm went down three times, and the referee counted Draven out and awarded the match to Green Dragon.

Then it was main event time. Out came the NWS Tag-Team Champions "Mr. Motion" Shane Taylor and Ace Darling, and their manager Rocco Dorsey. They were introduced as "The Psychedelic Sissies" but after a few "words" with the ring announcer they were re-introduced as the "Studs". Then the fans began to cheer and the ground began to shake as their nearly half a ton of opposition came out, Big Slam Vader and local big man "Mass Destruction" Dave Duncan. Size really did matter for the first part of the match, as the two 400-plus pounders had their way with the champions. But Mr. Motion's and Ace's experience started to take over, as they worked over the knee of Duncan and kept him off balance for several minutes. It looked like Duncan might go down, until he tagged in a fresh Big Slam, who had no knee problems and leveled Mr. Motion and Ace. After twin Vader Splashes by both Big Slam and Duncan, they got the 1-2-3 and the non-title victory, sending the crowd home happy the night before Easter.
