NWA Legends Fan Fest Day 1 (Thursday) Update 08/05/2010

Heritage Wrestling Collectibles is attending the NWA Legends Fan Fest in Charlotte, NC this weekend - not to sell merchandise, but to simply be what we are to begin with...true fans of wrestling. This is actually our forth year attending this event and have been eagerly awaiting this one since last year's Fan Fest came to an end. We arrived in Charlotte a little after 4 (thankfully outrunning a storm) and proceeded to the most organized registration process of any year that we have attended.
We did partake in the "Sauce it up with J.R." BBQ. This was our first taste of JR's products and they are very good. As we were going through the line, we noticed Harley Race, Danny Hodge and Les Thatcher were seated at the same table enjoying their meal.
The first Q & A session of the night was with Mr. Wrestling #2. It is always great to listen to some of the first hand experiences that these legends have been through during their time in wrestling.
The fans that purchased one of JR's autographed bottles of BBQ sauce got the chance to meet him in between Q & A's.
The second question & answer session was with everyone's favorite James E. Cornette. No one can tell a story like Jim (as vulgar as some of the language is). Vince Russo seemed to get quite a bit of "talk time" tonight.
Tomorrow (Friday) is actually when all of the fun begins. The vendor rooms open, with thousands and thousands of dollars worth of wrestling merchandise and collectibles to be bought. Friday morning is heavy with vendor guests, as well.
With luck, I will add to the Friday update throughout the day.
