December 4th Results From Kenilworth NJ
With the start of the final double shot weekend for the nation’s leader in family-themed pro wrestling entertainment, National Wrestling Superstars were concerned on how the continued downturn of the economy would affect their shows during the holiday season, but those fears were unfounded as a standing room only crowd was on hand Friday night, at the Kenilworth Veterans Center to see why despite all other companies canceling shows, NWS keeps rolling along.
Before the show started NWS paid tribute with a 10 bell salute to the fallen Umaga who's passing just hours ahead of the 7:45 belltime shocked the locker room. Both current NWS cruiserweight champ Joey Janela and WWE alumni Jim the Anvile Neidhart both stood ringside as many of the crew also went onto the stage area for this way to often replayed wrestling ritual.
Results
Giavonnie Marraska def Thomas The Gate Rodriguez. These two new comers to the NWS rings put on quite an opener with the fans on the edge of their seats cheering for Rodriguez, but after nearly 10 minutes, Marraska finished off his opponent with the 1-2-3.
The Nigerian Nightmares with career advisor Danny Demanto and their manager there carreer advise Danny Demanto defeated Mr. Entertainment JD Smooth and NWS heavyweight champion Corey Havoc, managed by locals Steve Gipke and Tony Scorace. Smooth and Havoc argued with their managers over the advise they were being given, then started to berate them when neither Smooth or Havoc could gain any momentum on the Nightmares. When the managers turned their backs, Smooth and Havoc threw them into the ring where the Nightmares destroyed them while Smooth and Havoc laughed.
Tyson, The Finger Licken Chicken def Ryan Angus. Angus looked strong throughout the bout and had the locals cheering his every move, but with Tyson catching him in a chicken wing submission and won the match, Angus was disgusted and clotheslined the Chicken after the bout.
Before the start of the next match, Danny Damanto, Nicky Oceans and Kevin Matthews made his way to the ring. Oceans spoke first telling the fans that NWS management was trying to knock him off his title reign by bringing in new talent. He said “that’s fine because I have eyes and ears in the back of my head and nobody is taking my title from me”. He continued “bring them all on because just like someone else who wore pink and black, I am the best there was, the best there is and the best that ever will be…and unlike some people, I still make the pink and black look good”. Demanto told Commissioner Gino Moore that he had a surprise for him and that for once, the NWS didn’t do their homework because he changed the main event between Kevin Matthews and Jim The Anvil Neidhart. Rather than a one on one, he made it a three on two handicapped match pitting himself and Kevin Matthews, two of the best stars in wrestling against Jim Neidhart, Joey Janela and Brittney Savage. Then Matthews grabbed the mic and told everyone that he beat The Nasty Boys, Brutus Beefcake, Tatanka and next week in Flemington Tito Santana, so Jim Neidhart can just join the list of legends that have fallen to him (NWS note: for the record, Kevin Matthews may think he defeated all the legends he mentioned, but the record book says otherwise).
Bryan Harley and Mr. Nick Gregory took on the nearly 7’ tall Major Disaster and the Happy Hillbilly Justin Blackwell. Blackwell wanted to start the match off with a dance off, but neither Harley nor Gregory would have anything to do with it. Gregory was getting the best of Disaster and Blackwell was getting the best of Disaster with quick tie ups and tag outs After a particular strong series of holds and counters, Gregory and Blackwell shook hands showing good sportsmanship but from there everything disintegrated as Harley turned on Gregory and Disaster turned on Hillbilly and the teams battled outside the building where security had to stop traffic as they fought all down the street. The decision was a no contest.
The Jock Mafia (Mike Dennis and Chris D’Andrea took on Too Hot Steve Scott and wrestling standout Hurricane John Walters. Lots of back and forth action with both teams getting lots of momentum and smart tag offs and it appeared Walters had the Mafia set up for the win before Nicky Oceans came out to ringside and distracted him. While this was going on, the Mafia went from behind and scored the win on Scott. Walters was noticeably upset and demanded that Oceans face him like a man one on one and NWS obliged him by setting up a first ever one on one match next Saturday, December 12th at the Flemington American Legion.
Jim The Anvil Neidhart, Brittney Savage and Joey Janela, with managers Steve Gipke and Tony Scorase took on Kevin Matthews and Danny Demanto. NWS had a surprise for Matthews and Demanto. Savage was not allowed to be part of the match due to the possible brutality and allowed her to be in the corner with the other managers. While arguing, they attacked Janela and Neidhart and managed to get Janela trapped away from Neidhart, who kept trying to get in to save his partner before the referee pushed him out. After what seemed like a lifetime of beating Janela, Neidhart got the tag and double teamed both Demanto and Matthews and set Demanto up for the Hart Attack, but Matthews grabbed Janela and pulled him out of the ring. Savage then rushed into the ring and caught Demanto with the move for the 1-2-3. As the managers and wrestlers were celebrating, Havoc and Smoth attacked them before being chased away by Neidhart and Janela.
The main event saw a four way Tables, Ladders and Chairs match pitting current NWS Jersey Shore Champion Myke G.Q. Quest against one half of the NWS tag champions (and sometimes indy tag partner) Corvis Fear against NWS Junior Heavyweight champion Nicky Oceans against Philadelphia star Devon Moore. This was the third TLC match since the summer and all four wrestlers proved that they are the future of wrestling as they tore into each other, in and out of the ring, breaking tables, chairs and even the ladder (note to NWS management: good job getting the second one because the belts would still be atop the building). After nearly 20 minutes of total nonstop action (not to be confused with the wrestling company that goes by those initials). Moore and Fear were inches away from grabbing the belts before Quest and Oceans pulled them down. Moore and Fear continued fighting and Fear used a pile driver to put Moore through a table. While they were down, Quest and Oceans climbed the ladder and grabbed a belt and fell to the ground at the same time, allowing both to hold onto their respective titles.
