NWS Lanoka Harbor, NJ 5/31 Results: Well Over 400 Fans, Former WWE'ers Eugene & Tito Santana & The Patriot, A New Champion, Plus A Surprise WWE Hall-of-Famer

For the astounding ninth time in the month of May, National Wrestling Superstars packed another house, this time with well over 400 fans at the Lacey Township High School Gym in Lanoka Harbor, NJ on Saturday night May 31, bringing NWS' attendance totals for the month to around 2,500, for what will go down in history as one of their busiest and most sucessful months of action. And speaking of history, it was made in more than one way this night in Lacey.

Ryan Blackheart won a "Baker's Dozen" Battle Royal to earn a match against former ECW brawler The Equalizer later in the show. The order of elimination of the other twelve wrestlers was:

  • Nate Mustang
  • Indian Medicine Man Draven
  • Beautiful Bobby
  • Jumping Joey Janella
  • The Jersey Cowboy
  • Mitch Franklin
  • The Shadow
  • Dan Rageous
  • Klondike Kevin Krush
  • Jack Spade
  • Corey Havoc
  • Cameron Shaft

When the match came down to just Shaft and Blackheart, The Equalizer came out and leveled Blackheart with a chain in an attempt to assist Shaft; Blackheart was able to recover and eliminate Shaft to earn the match against a very irate Equalizer.

NWS Cruiserweight Champion J.D. Smoothie (with Royce Profit & former WWE star Salvatore Sincere) retained his title in a Three-Way Elimination Match against Golden Lynx & Mighty Mikey Pacifica. Sal, who was making his first NWS appearance after having been suspended, was sent back to the locker room. But Profit remained at ringside providing distractions throughout the match. Mikey eliminated Lynx by reversing a hurricanrana attempt into a sitdown piledriver for the pin. Mikey then hit a Tornado DDT on Smoothie from the top rope and it looked like there might be a new champion, but Sal Sincere returned to ringside and distracted the referee from the pinfall. While Mikey was attempting to get his hands on Sal, Smoothie snuck up behind him and hit a reverse pilderiver on Mikey and got the 1-2-3 to win the match. An angry Commissioner Moore threatened to double Sal's last suspension if he showed his face again before his main event match.

Former WWE superstar and hall-of-famer "El Matador" Tito Santana defeated Ace Darling. The double-tough Ace used his strength and pounded on Tito early, but Tito's experience, and a perfectly executed Flying Burrito forearm, won out.

Former WWE TV star "America's Hero" The Patriot & A Famous Wrestling Clown defeated The Mideast Bullies (Saddam Insane & T.N.T, with Royce Profit). The Bullies were making their first Jersey Shore appearance in many months, but The Patriot and The Clown spoiled their return, outdueling The Bullies (and Profit) at every turn and executing a double pinfall on Saddam and T.N.T after tossing them into each other. The victory celebration was interrupted by the aapperance of Profit's other charges including The Equalizer, Ace Darling, Nicky Oceans & J.D. Smoothie, but they were driven off by Tito Santana, Rhett Titus, and former WWE RAW superstar Eugene.

Former ECW brawler The Equalizer defeated Ryan Blackheart. Blackheart took the fight to Equalizer, who, in the spirit of ECW, used chairs, chains, and anything else he could get his hands on. But the big Blackheart toughed it out, and after powerslamming Equalizer onto a chair was on the verge of upsetting the ECW alumnus, when Cameron Shaft ran into the ring and leveled Blackheart with a baseball bat. Equalizer covered the unconscious Blackheart for the pinfall. Commissioner Moore decided he had enough of the Equalizer-Shaft alliance, and announced that the two of them would be teaming up in Seaside Heights on July 10th to face former ECW superstars The Blue Meanie and the one and only Balls Mahoney.

Rhett "The Threat" Titus defeated Nicky Oceans to become the *NEW* NWS Jersey Shore Champion. After months of matches with no conclusive ending, and with hundreds of fans cheering on the hometown challenger, Titus and Oceans tore into each other knowing this was do-or-die time. After numerous high-impact moves and near-falls that had the fans on the edge of their seats, Titus blocked a superplex attempt by Oceans, and hit a tremendous flying spash onto Oceans to get the three count. The locker room came out to congratulate the new champion as the crowd gave both competitors a standing ovation for an excellent match.

Former WWE RAW superstar Eugene defeated former WWE star Salvatore Sincere (with Royce Profit). The match began with Sal and Profit double-teaming Eugene, to the point where Eugene went to Commissioner Moore and demanded that he have a manager too. Commissioner Moore pointed out that former WWE legend The Iron Sheik was signing autographs nearby, and asked him if he would be his manager. The Iron Sheik accepted, and despite Sal's protests came to ringside and was able to keep Sal and Profit at bay. After Sal used an arsenal of cheating and foreign objects on Eugene, Eugene, in the spirit of his favorite superhero wrestlers, "hulked up" and hit Sal with a Leg Drop and a Rock Bottom (but missed a People's Elbow). Sal countered with a Diamond Cutter, but in the exchange referee Kenny Edwards got caught between them and was knocked out. Eugene hit Sal with a Pedigree but there was no referee to make the count. Two of Sal's friends, Dan Rageous and The Shadow tried to interfere, but Eugene leveled them with a Rock Bottom and an STF. J.D. Smoothie tried to get in a shot and received a Stone Cold Stunner for his trouble. When Eugene turned around and went after Sal, Sal threw a handful of powder in his face, but only got a two count from substitute referee Jimmy Storm. An irate Sal threw Storm out of the ring and charged Eugene but missed and leveled his own manager Royce Profit instead. Urged on by The Iron Sheik, Eugene slapped a Camel Clutch on Sal, who wasted little time in tapping out, giving the victory to Eugene and sending the crowd home happy.

Besides todays June 1st show in Delaware and with May's record pace, NWS will be taking a rest break during the remainder of June through the July 4th holiday. NWS will return to action on July 10th with the aforementioned show at Parish Hall in Seaside Heights, NJ.
