NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 8/9

National Wrestling Superstars And Womens Superstars Uncensored Team Up For A Blowout Double-Shot Weekend, Jersey Shore Jocks Make An Impact, And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Friday night August 13th, NWS returns to the Dunellen, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall (647 Grove Street, just off South Washington Avenue near Route 28) with "Bad Luck Brawl", with a 7:45pm bell time.
The main event could certainly spell bad luck for the participants (not to mention any innocent bystanders who get too close), as a huge six-person inter-gender tag-team match will pit former WWE TV bad boy Salvatore Sincere and "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie (collectively known as "Sincerely Smooth") and their partner WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage against the horrific trio of the 900+ pound undefeated Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) and their manager-turned-wrestler Voodoo Princess Sheeta. Who will win? Who will even survive? Find out this Friday night.
Also on the bill will be former WWE & WCW TV superstar "America's Hero" The Patriot, waving the stars and stripes around, and not afraid of anything that Friday The Thirteenth can bring. Plus there will be appearances by "The Legend Killer" Helter Skelter, NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela, Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare, Corvis Fear, Indian Warrior Draven, and much more, including the debut of Johnny The Jobber.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.

This Saturday night August 14th, NWS debuts at the Island Heights, NJ Firehouse Hall (15 Lake Avenue, just off Route 37 East and West End Avenue) with a 7:35pm bell time.
And NWS will make a huge impact on its first visit to Island Heights, and the main event that night will be a rematch from the previous night, as win, lose, or draw, a huge six-person inter-gender tag-team main event will pit former WWE TV bad boy Salvatore Sincere and "Mr. Find out this Saturday night.
Adding to this night of firsts will be the first ever Ocean County Strap Match between former Baghdad Bullies teammates Hasheem "Atomic Dog" Ali and "American Turncoat" T.N.T. At the last Ocean County area show, Ali announced that he was sick of losing matches and having to pick up the slack for his former stable-mate T.N.T. Words were exchanged that night, and as a result, blows and straps will be exchanged this coming Satutrday night.
Also on the bill will be former WWE & WCW TV superstar "America's Hero" The Patriot. Plus there will be appearances by NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela, Ray-Ray Marz, A.C. Kewl, beloved Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer accompanied by his former manager Father Oz, former NWA Canadian Champion "The Hockey Goon" Rocco Dorsey, and fire company special guest manager Crazy Rob Rumbles, and much more.
Tickets are only $18 for adults and $16 for kids and seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Results From Last Weekend

National Wrestling Superstars returned to regular action after its month-and-a-half summer break with a bang, a huge joint show with its sister all-ladies promotion Women Superstars Uncensored, on Friday night August 6th at its popular Bayshore area venue, the V.F.W. Post 2179 Hall in Middletown, NJ. And despite the economic malaise that has depleted the pocketbooks of wrestling fans, NWS & WSU seemingly pulled a rabbit out of their hats, as a better than expected Friday night crowd nearly filled the VFW Hall to capacity with screaming cheering fans.
  • Before the opening contest, ring announcer Johnny Falco announced that one of the main events that night would be a four-corners inter-gender tag-team match, and he introduced the four male captains: "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, Mighty Mikey Pacifica, and former ECW & WWE superstar Nunzio. It was announced that their respective lady partners would be announced later in the evening, but the men did not want to wait, as a heated exchange of words between Demanto and Pacifica quickly escalated to a brawl by all four men before security stepped in and broke it up.
  • WSU's lovely ring announcer Destiny was introduced as the co-host for the evening.
  • In the opening contest, WSU Tag-Team Champion Jana (with partner Cindy Rogers) won by submission over Marti Belle (with her Belle Saints partner Tina SanAntonio). The veteran Jana clearly had the edge over the smaller less-experienced Belle, and despite a courageous effort by Belle, she was locked in the JanaVice and quickly tapped out.
  • Before the start of the next match, The Cosmo Club, WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage and "Boy Diva" Rick Cataldo, came out to the ring. Brittney announced that, as had been talked about on the Internet, they were adding a new member to the Cosmo Club, and out came former WSU Champion Alicia to much boo'ing from the crowd. Alicia said how proud she was to be a member of WSU's most elite club.
  • In the ensuing match, Niya defeated "Boy Diva" Rick Cataldo (with Cosmo Club members Brittney Savage & Alicia on the outside). Niya did not appear to be intimidated by being outnumbered and took the fight to Cataldo. Ironically, it was the presence of Cataldo's teammates that did him in. After Brittney tripped up Niya along the ropes, she held Niya for Cataldo to deck, but Niya ducked and Cataldo's fist hit Brittney's cheek instead. As Cataldo stood there stunned, Niya kicked him in the gut and leveled him with an F5 followed by the 1-2-3 pin. Brittney gave Cataldo an angry look as the defeated Cosmo Club retreated to the back.
  • In a six-man tag-team explosion, the team of NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janella & Michael Reigns & Shock defeated the team of The Soul Assassin & "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm & (making his NWS debut) "The Retro Rocker" Ricky Rose (with manager Rotten Ralph). With six wild brawlers and high-fliers in the ring, this match was all over the place, and ended with triple simultaneous powerslams from Janella & Reigns & Shock on their opponents followed by a 1-2-3 for all three pins.
  • Before the ring was cleared of wrestlers, out came former ECW & WSU Women's Champion Angel Orsini, who wanted to make a statement, and took out Fehrm and Ricky Rose with back suplexes when they wouldn't leave the ring fast enough. Angel announced that since losing the 70-minute Iron Woman Match to Mercedes Martinez last year, she has not had a title rematch. Saying she has been wrestling for fourteen years, toughed it out in ECW, and has shown all guts to WSU and received no glory, she revealed her own title belt and announced that she was crowning herself WSU's "All Guts No Glory" Champion. Angel announced that she would go through any and all potential number-one contenders until she was the only contender left standing, starting tonight with former TNA superstar Awesome Kong in the main event. This brought Kong herself out from the locker room, who threatened to charge the ring, requiring the entire security staff to hold her back.
  • NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc (with manager Rotten Ralph & "advisor" Nicky Oceans in his corner) retained his title against challenger Skitzo. The two men were equally matched in size, power, and determination, and fought an even match all over the ring and outside as well. Skitzo came close on a number of occasions to upsetting the champion, but it was Havoc's cornermen who ended up making the difference. When the referee was knocked out when Havoc fell off the top rope after Skitzo foiled a superplex attempt, and Skitzo had Havoc covered after a flying splash for what would have been an easy 1-2-3, Oceans ran into the ring and leved Skitzo with his Boom-Boom-Pow finisher, rolled the semi-conscious Havoc on top of him, and revived the referee, who groggily counted the 1-2-3 for Havoc. An angry NWS Commissioner Gino Moore, watching the matches from the back row of the hall, announced that Skitzo would have a rematch with Havoc when NWS returned to the Middletown area in November, and to even the odds, this match would be a Lumberjack Match!
  • Amber defeated Divina Fly. The smaller Fly took the fight to Amber and kept the match close, but in the end after Fly missed a moonsault, Amber took down Fly with an Enziguri Kick and pinned her 1-2-3.
  • Tina SanAntonio (with her Belle Saints partner Marti Belle) defeated WSU Tag-Team Champion "The Definition Of Technician" Cindy Rogers (with her partner Jana). Tina suprised Rogers, and the crowd, by matching her hold-for-hold, and in the end, reversed a knee lift attempt by Rogers into a rollup and a 1-2-3 upset victory. The celebration was short-lived however, as Rogers and Jana attacked Tina and Marti after the match. Danny Demanto and Nicky Oceans came out from the back to help their friends Rogers and Jana in the attack, but were driven away when Mikey Pacifica and former ECW & WWE star Nunzio. As security kept the two factions apart, Commissioner Moore announced that he had made the choices for partners in the Four-Corners Inter-Gender Tag-Team Match later that night: Danny Demanto & Jana, Nicky Oceans & Cindy Rogers, Mikey Pacifica & Marti Belle, and Nunzio & Tina SanAntonio.
  • WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage came out to the ring with her Cosmo Club partners Alicia & "Boy Diva" Rick Cataldo for her title defense against Brittney Force. Brittney Savage took the mic and said again how proud she was that Alicia had joined the Cosmo Club, but since she was the leader, Alicia would be under her in the Cosmo Club. Alicia took the mic announced that as a former WSU champion, not only would she not be under Savage or anyone else, but she had secretly signed a contract to make this WSU Spirit Title match a three-way match with herself as the third participant, and had only joined the Cosmo Club as a diversion to fool Savage. Commissioner Moore said the contract was legal, and if Savage did not fight in the match she would forfeit the title.
  • In the ensuing triple-threat match, Alicia defeated Brittney Savage (with "Boy Diva" Rick Cataldo) and Brittney Force to become the *NEW* WSU Spirit Champion. All three women waged a fierce battle, with newcomer Brittany Force holding her own against the two more veteran opponents. But Alicia would not be denied this time, and after Savage put down Force with a bulldog, Alicia planted Savage into the mat with an Alicia-Bomb and pinned her 1-2-3 to take the title.
  • In the Four-Corners Inter-Gender Tag-Team Match, "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & "The Definition Of Technician" Cindy Rogers (with Corey Havoc & Rotten Ralph in their corner) were victorious against the teams of "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto & Jana, Mighty Mikey Pacifica & Marti Belle, and former WWE & ECW star Nunzio & Tina SanAntonio. Before the match, Oceans and Demanto revealed that they had added unnoticed fine print to the match contract that made their friend "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie the special referee. The match itself was a wild affair, with the ladies and men tagging in and out. Despite initially calling the match down the middle, Smoothie showed his true colors in the end. After Nunzio leved Demanto with a Sicilian Slice, his partner Tina leveled Demanto with a splash, only to have Smoothie deliberately abort what would have been an easy three-count. As Nunzio argued with Smoothie, Oceans snuck up behind Nunzio and rolled him up with a schoolboy, and Smoothie counted a super-fast 1-2-3 to give Oceans the victory. Nunzio and Pacifica complained to Commissioner Moore, and while he could not reverse the referee's decision, he announced that the next night in Long Branch, Oceans and Smoothie would compete in a tag-team match against Nunzio and Pacifica.
  • The Main Event match between former TNA star Awesome Kong and former ECW & WSU Women's Champion Angel Orsini ended up as a double-disqualification. WSU's two pound-for-pound toughest ladies lived up to their monniker by waging a huge brawl all over the building, inside and outside the ring. Despite Kong's size and strength advantage, Angel proved herself worthy of her "all guts no glory" monniker by withstanding that advantage and taking the fight to Kong. After a lengthy brawl outside the ring, Angel brought a table into the ring (a throwback to her ECW days). Kong tried to counter by bringing in a chair, but referee Kenny Edwards tried to take it from her hands, and when Angel attacked Kong in the midst of the tug-of-war, the chair ricocheted into referee Edwards and knocked him out cold. Kong tried to powerbomb Angel through the table, but Angel fought out of it and instead drop-kicked Kong into the table, smashing it! The two women battled on for several more minutes, with Kong getting ahold of the chair and leveling Angel with it, until referee Edwards regained consciousness and called for the bell, disqualifying both ladies. Both ladies were angry at the non-decision, and chased Edwards out of the ring and kept brawling. Kong took out after the ring announcer for announcing the double-disqualification, and as Angel stood defiant in the ring, Brittney Savage came out to attack Angel, but was thwarted by the appearance of Alicia. Jana and Cindy Rogers came out as well to join the attack, but Angel and Alicia were able to fight them off. As Angel and Alicia were left in the ring, Alicia leveled Angel with an Alicia-Bomb, sending Angel a message that she was one contender who had no intention of stepping aside for her, as the show ended.
National Wrestling Superstars continued its double-shot weekend with the stars of Women Superstars Uncensored, with an outdoor "Wrestling Stars Under The Stars" show on Saturday night August 7th at the Long Branch, NJ Elks Lodge Showgrounds. And even though the town was hosting a classic car show with a concert by the Duprees and fireworks less than a mile away, the area wrestling fans still knew what the best entertainment in town was, which provided for a good and energetic Saturday night crowd.
  • In the opening contest, Jana was the winner by submission in a triple-threat ladies match over Brittney Force and Marti Belle. Force and Belle spent most of the match trying to double-team Jana, but could not agree on which one of them would get the pinfall. The double-tough veteran Jana took advantage and battled back, and eventually locked Marti Belle in the JanaVice and got the submission.
  • Before the next match, former ECW & WWE diva Dawn Marie was introduced to the crowd. She told the fans how happy she was to be there, but her greeting was cut short by the appearance of former WWE TV star Sal Sincere and his cohorts NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie and their manager Rotten Ralph. After Sal hurled insults at the crowd and Dawn Marie, Dawn went to Commissioner Moore and was granted the opportunity to guest-manage in two matches later that night.
  • The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) made their NWS debut a successful one by defeating the team of NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela & luchador Manuel Manny Moore. Janela initially challenged the Jocks to a dancing contest, and the crowd reaction gave that contest overwhelmingly to the Jocks. Janela and Moore tried to flee the show in embarassment by attempting to hijack the production truck, but were eventually forced back into the ring. After a high-flying match by all four participants, Dennis and D'Andrea put their opponents away for good with twin flying splashes to get the double 1-2-3.
  • In a six-person inter-gender tag-team match, The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) & Voodoo Princess Sheeta, with Dawn Marie in their corner defeated the team of Sal Sincere & the dazzling Divine & Tina SanAntonio, with manager Rotten Ralph. The Nightmares dominated the match early by literally throwing their weight around. Sal and Divine were able to isolate and double-team Mafu for a period, but he fought back and tagged in Snafu. After Sheeta threw Tina out of the ring, The Nightmares crushed Sal and Divine with a Nigerian Sandwich, then finished off Divine with a double splash and the 1-2-3.
  • In the first of two tag-team grudge matches, the team of NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc & "American Turncoat" T.N.T, with Rotten Ralph, defeated former ECW brawler The Equalizer & Ray-Ray Marz. The veteran Equalizer and rising star Marz kept the match even with Havoc and T.N.T. Marz endured double-teaming by Havoc and T.N.T for several minutes before tagging in Equalizer who cleaned house and seemed to have his team poised for victory. But Havoc dragged Equalizer out of the ring and the two brawled, luring the referee out of the ring as well. Taking advantage of the situation, Rotten Ralph signaled for J.D. Smoothie & Nicky Oceans to run into the ring and attack Marz. Oceans leveled Marz with his Boom-Boom-Pow finisher and dragged T.N.T on top of him as the referee finally returned to the ring and made the three-count for T.N.T.
  • In the Main Event, another tag-team grudge match, former WWE & ECW star Nunzio & Mighty Mikey Pacifica, with Dawn Marie in their corner, defeated "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie & NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, with manager Rotten Ralph. Nunzio's mat wrestling skills befuddled Oceans and Smoothie early on, but they eventually double-teamed Pacifica and pounded on him for several minutes before Nunzio was tagged back in. After leveling Oceans with a Sicilian Slice, Nunzio appeared to have an easy three-count, but the pinfall was broken up by Rotten Ralph. While Nunzio was complaining to the referee, Ralph jumped into the ring with a "Wet Floor" sign, intent on clobbering Pacifica with it. But Dawn Marie snuck up behind Ralph and took him out with a low blow, and Pacifica hit a reverse hurricanrana on Oceans and held him down for the 1-2-3 pinfall victory, giving Nunzio his revenge and sending the crowd home happy.

Jersey Shore Jocks Make An Impact In Their NWS Debut

Looking to be the first to capitalize on the popular MTV show "The Jersey Shore", and taking advantage of their huge presence on the Jersey Shore, NWS debut'ed the Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) last Saturday night August 7th at its "Wrestling Stars Under The Stars" show in Long Branch, NJ, appropriately less than a mile from the beach.
Wanting to prove they are no pushovers, the Jocks debut'ed against a pair of seasoned veterans, Jumping Joey Janela and Manuel Manny Moore. But seasoned veterans or not, they were out-danced by Dennis and D'Andrea before the match started, and out-wrestled by them during the match, as the Jocks flattened Janela and Manny with twin flying splashes and held them both down for a double three-count.
If you missed last Saturday's show, fear not... you will have plenty more opportunities to see them in August, as The Jersey Shore Jocks will be in Dunellen, NJ this coming Friday night August 13th, Belleville, NJ next Friday night August 20th, and Union, NJ next Saturday night August 21st.
Whether or not you're a fan of "The Jersey Shore" TV show, when you see The Jersey Shore Jocks in action just one time, you'll be a fan for life.

But even that's not all, as also on the bill, two teams will battle for the vacant NWS Tag-Team Titles, as former NWS Tag-Team Champions Team Supreme ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Corvis Fear) will reunite against a pair of top-ranked newcomers, The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea).
