NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 05/30: NWS Closes Out Its Spring Season This Weekend With Two Former WWE Champions & A LumberJack Match & An Inter-Gender Tag-Team Grudge Match, And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Saturday night June 4th, NWS returns to Stirling, NJ's Long Hill Township Community Center (264 Warren Avenue, just off Valley Road, minutes from I-78) with a 7:35pm bell time.
Former WWE TV wrestling legends Nikolai Volkoff and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, both of whom were members of championship tag-teams dating back to the early days of WrestleMania, will headline this all-star pro wrestling show.
Nikolai Volkoff was a long-time teammate of the hated Iron Sheik, and the duo won the tag-team titles at the very first WrestleMania. The two went on to dominate the WWE tag-team scene for over two years, and Volkoff was a fixture on WWE TV on and off for nearly two decades. Even now, this Russian giant, who has become a patriotic American, is still a force to be reckoned with.
Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart was one-half of the world-famous Hart Foundation tag-team with his real-life brother-in-law, the legendary Bret "Hit Man" Hart. The two won the WWE Tag-Team Titles multiple times, in a partnership which spanned more than five years. The Anvil was considered the "power" half of the team alongside Bret's scientific skills, and even now the Anvil's power can still flatten opponents.
But this show will also feature plenty of top-notch regional and local pro mat talent. The NWS Heavyweight Champion "Rampage" Rogers will defend the title against "Cannonball" Jeff Guerrero in Stirling's first-ever Lumberjack Match. The ring will be surrounded by other wrestlers from the locker room, to ensure that the outside interference which affected these two men's last match will (hopefully) not come into play again.
Another matchup that has the fans talking is an inter-gender tag-team match, where the men and women team up together and wrestle together. In one corner will be NWS Tag-Team Champion and Jersey Shore Jocks member Mike Dennis and the high-flying Jamilia Craft, taking on NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and his partner, the dangerous lady warrior Niya. "Falls Count Anywhere" means that the match does not have to stay within the confines of the ring, it can (and no doubt will) be fought all over the Community Center. This is definitely one match you don't see very often, and don't want to miss.
There will also be appearances by NWS Cruiserweight Champion Spyral, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, Jumping Joey Janela, "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto, "Corrupted" Corey Havoc, Team Thunder Horse (Indian Chief Draven & "The Warrior" Jack Spade), "Retro Rocker" Ricky Roxx, manager Romulus The Great, and much more!
Tickets are only $20, and all seats are ringside. Tickets are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704, and all major charge cards are accepted. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.
